1. I had surgery September 21 through Belite with Dr. Webber at Harper. I was very pleased and was well taken care of. I have no complaints. We stayed in the International House for 3 nights. The place is old and not the Hampton but it was close and convenient in case something should happen before going home. We had a 5 1/2 hour drive home and I was instructed very well on how to be careful with my new band. The doctor gave me his home phone in case of emergency. The hospital is full of interns and new students. It is an old hospital but it was very clean. I had a private room and around the clock nursing. Doctors here in Indy do the surgery on an outpatient basis and I felt good at least staying the night. I am doing great, no vomiting, no gas problems, all is well! If anyone out there would like to ask a question about Belite or Harper I would be glad to answer. I also was taken care of by Jackie in a very timely manner. All of our correspondence was answered right away.
2. ...and your point is??????????
3.
Mollybrown, the only reason they do an evaluation is to see if you are a good candidate. There are certain type of eaters that the band will not do anything for them. It is a tool and some emotional eaters will be very disappointed if they continue unless they can face their problem. They also want to find out if you suffer with depression that causes thoughts of suicide. It was very interesting to me to find out why I eat the things I do. I doubt you will have any problems. They had me read a book called Emotional Eating by Edward Abramson. Very good book! Except for a couple comments that I found that was contrary to what I believe as a Christian.

The other thing I wanted to comment about was your husband. My husband was very concerned not 100% OK but a wonderful support. Is this what you are saying? The doctors will want to know who your support people will be. It sounds to me that this is a good step for you. Don't get discouraged and go for it.
4. I'm here, banded 9/21 and feeling great. I have lost 13 pounds but I really want to wait as long as possible to be filled . I have never vomited or had gas pains. If it were not for the full feeling after about 4 oz. I would wonder if I had the surgery. Good luck to all the September banders.:bounce:
5. What was your diet like? Did you maintain a strict eating habit?
6. I would love to be one of those people who don't have to have a fill for a long time. I am not only self pay but I think it may be better if you can go longer. I read so many that even after two weeks of surgery they feel they need to have a fill.
7. I was banded 9/21 and there is nothing in my band. I was really curious to know if there are some people who have gone 6 months to a year without a fill. How long have you gone? Is there anyone out there that has gone a year?

Thanks for your information!
8. My surgery was the 21st also and the pressure is the same with me. I still haven't had anything but liquids until tomorrow. Feeling great!
9. Hey Bluebird, how are you doing? I have 3 days and I was hoping I would hear from you. I just forgot today is your surgery. I just whispered a prayed for you.
10. Hey girl, I will be 62 in December and I will have surgery September 21. I have been reading and checking out information for 6 months and I am ready.
11. I am also scheduled in Detroit September 21 and I did go through the same group. Be sure and let me know your experience.
12. Add me to your list for September 21 in Detriot
13. I have had Lupus for many years and because I have Lupus the doctor felt it would be good for me to have lap band surgery. I really don't think Lupus has anything to do with the lap band. I will have surgery in 10 more days
14. To begin with I think we all care what people think. It is just such a personal thing with me.

I am having surgery the 21 of September. Today I told my son and his wife and they seem to understand but my daughter said that I was vain and that hurt me so bad. I have Lupus and hypertention and spend a lot of time w/o energy especially in the winter time. I did chose only to tell my 2 friend and my family because of the way people think. I feel that my health will be better and looking better is also an important asset.
