Bathroom Habits
My NUT recommends daily doses of Benefiber or the equivalent starting pre-op. Perhaps this is why? I am still pre op.

Protein Shakes VS. Real Food
My doctor does the Cornell post op plan too. Purées before you leave the hospital and continue on that for anywhere from 2-4 weeks' time post op. Only pre-op diet is 48 hours of liquids and nothing by mouth midnight prior.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
- The one thing I can't wait to wear...
My daughters clothes. A skirt above my knees. A tucked in shirt. Something I bought because I liked it not because it was the only thing that fit.- My pre-op and post-op diet
That's the diet my surgeon and NUT use also! In fact it's the exact one they just replaced the cover page, ha ha! Thank you for posting this! I was a bit worries to be progressing to purées before even leaving the hospital when I was reading everyone else's diets! This makes me feel better.- Handling the Holidays with a Baby Sleeve
My date is the Monday after Thanksgiving and my Dr doesn't do a big pre-op diet, just liquid for 48 hours, so thanksgiving will be a last meal of sorts even though I am already starting my own pre op diet. I love the movies idea too! It was a tradition we used to have growing up (and yes they are open Christmas Day) so I will try to revive that one. Also board games! Lots of fun! Thinking of making leftover turkey purée with a touch of gravy and freezing it in ice trays for when I get to the purée stage!- Puree Suggestions
Was thinking about pureeing thanksgiving leftovers, like turkey with just a bit of gravy. Anyone tried freezing these puréed in an ice cube tray? How does that work?- December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I am December 2nd. 44yrs 5'7" and 271 pounds. I am married with two kids on the central coast of California. Looking forward to the journey!- Ninja 1500 Kitchen System less than $200
I don't think it's a stupid question! I have been debating between something like this and a magic bullet and decided I wanted something more durable and multi purpose that still has the option to blend in a single serve cup. WLS specifically I plan to use it for Protein shakes (I like ice in them) and for blending foods for the purée stage post-op. Plus all the other general purpose things...guacamole, hummus, baking/mixing, chopping vegetables, making salsa, etc.- Newbie jumping in
Thanks for the tips! Yes I am totally doing the small bites and chewing thoroughly right now at the reccommendation of my NUT....really eye opening! I am working on the sugar right now and simple carbs...then at two weeks out I will do the caffiene...that's gonna be the hardest for me.- Ninja 1500 Kitchen System less than $200

Hello all! I have been lurking and reading while researching and making my decision. A little less than a month ago I met with a surgeon, powered thru a ton of appts and evaluations and can now officially say I will have surgery on December 1st! More excited than nervous right now. My doctor is one of those with no real pre-op diet except liquids 48hrs before, but I am using this time to explore and figure out all the Protein options and such and hope to lose some pre-op weight to help with the liver issues anyway! He also has a very speedy progression post-surgery which I will probably ask about in another post. This one is just to say hi and here I am! I am 44, 5'7" and 271. From California. Have a teen and an upper elementary school kid at home. Loved their reactions when I told them..my son wanted to know all the medical stuff in great detail ad with pictures and my daughter just wanted to know of I was gonna get skinny enough to steal her clothes and asked me to please not wear skirts that were too short! We even had a hemline discussion, LOL! Anyhow, excited to be a part of the board and to begin this journey! - The one thing I can't wait to wear...
