  1. I'm just wondering if anyone out there was or has a lapband with a plication. I was told by my PA that she doesn't think the sleeve is an option after having the plication with band. Has anyone ever had one after a band with plication? Or what revision have you had?
  2. I joined a study in which I didn't know if I had a plication or not. After a year I was told I had the plication, shortly after that they discontinued the study and the surgeon I had left the practice. She moved out of state. I got my band in DEC 2013. I initially lost around 55lbs. Recently I have gained around 30lbs back and I am throwing up 2-3 times a week. Recently I went and saw my PA. i had an upper GI, which showed no problems with the band, but they took all 4 ccs of fluid I had in my band. (oh btw i was told after my surgery that they will not put more than 5 ccs in the band) They explained to me that some people do develop band intolerance and that is why I am throwing up 2-3 times a week. The PA made an appointment for me to talk with a different surgeon. I want the sleeve! I was told that I may not be able to have the sleeve procedure done because of having this plication with my band. I do not want gastric bypass. So I am going May 19 to discuss my options into what I can do. Good Luck on your outcome!

  4. I have 2 questions for everyone. First I'm getting very discouraged lately I have only lost 34 lbs since my surgery at the end of December 2013. I finally got my second fill on May 19 which now goves me 2.5 in my band. I eat high Protein and watch my carbs I exercise everyday but to me the weight is not dropping fast enough. Is this normal most people at 6 months have lost alot more weight and they also have had more fills. The PA I see I swear is afraid to gove them all she does pride herself and tell me about all the patient's she has that done need any fills.
  5. I just got banded December 27. Everyday seems a little better . I still am feeling nauseous when I eat. I was just wondering how long till you start feel normal again?
  6. I was Banded 12/27/13. I still feel kinda blah. They put me on a full liquid diet to come but I'm still having gas pains. Plus when I eat sometimes get nauseas is this normal and how long will it last?

  8. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. I'm hoping I can stick to this but I completely agree this is a very hard habit to quit!!!! And of course I'm sure you all would agree when you are hungry sometimes smoking can curve that so I am trying very hard now before my surgery not to pick at food when all I want is to smoke. I'm going stay on this track til at least my surgery so I can heal properly and hopefully HOPEFULLY never start again!

  13. Just wanted to know if anyone else was or is still a smoker. I have to quit a month before surgery and after reading some of the paper work given to me from my surgeon looks like I should never smoke again. I have been a smoker for about 15 years so quitting has been rough. Through out the last six months I have tried to quit but then after week 2 I went back to smoking. Just wondering if anyone else was or is going through the same thing.

  15. Hi K, going to be banded at Magees 12/27. I wasn't given a pre op diet either which I see on here a lot of people do.
