  1. Im flying to SD in two more days. Finally getting there and on the lap band weight loss wagon!! Any final tips for bakerman anyone??
  2. BlueEyedKitty I'm getting the AP also, I called about it and Dr G uses the new Inamed bands. Lapbandit I get nervous anytime I fly, any little bit of turbulence and I'm in bad shape. But you know they are right when they say the chances of problems while flying are less than while driving, so the thought helps, and maybe a little faith for good measure.
  3. Very well put SC. Indeed! Lap-bandit, thanks for your good wishes. I'm almost ready! Are you?
  4. Good luck NM, keep us posted when you get back!
  5. Great to know we'll down there for surgery together Maddy, I know we are getting in with the best! As far as payment, I just paid thru paypal and that was it. Lets keep in touch. Will you be at the clinic or the hospital? Thank you very much idloserm, the beer reduction will be HARD, but que-sera-sera! Whatever it takes. Staying busy will be the best distraction from food. It's when you wind down from work that all the cravings kick in. I've been doing a lot of walking and I really thinking of starting swimming. I wish you luck, I wish you plenty, may you shed those pounds, begin with twenty!
  6. I just got the news, got my financing and got my calendar all set!!!!! September 29th 2007 is my date with destiny!!!!!!!I'm destined to be thin!!!!!! Hey Gabe ol buddy, you out there? I'm gonna need some tips and tricks and some serious support. You just went through it and I would like you to give me an update man. Are you losing those pounds like in the commercials??? Mildredmach: Heres the information on Doctor Gonzalez, just spoke with him yesterday: 877-249-2263 is the phone, Lap Band Surgery, more than 2,500 successful procedures. is his site. I began researching a while back and Dr. G is the best doc for me. Like everyone says, they are always there, they are prompt, super clean track record, fanfrikentastic follow-up. They seem to be the best choice for me. My only regret: having to cut down on the ol brewskis, but hey! uuhhgg! Get back to me Gabe! Check with you all later.
  7. hey Gabe did you get any instructions for before the surgery, diet or exercise or do you just show up the day of your surgery, how does that work? Any tips from more experienced people on this board....
  8. Hi all, this is my first post on this thread. I think its appropriate for me to post here since I'm close to scheduling surgery with Doctor Gonzalez. I have read and asked questions on a few Mexican surgeons because they seem to be the ones with the most experience. I found some US surgeons very low priced, but I'm with the old saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is", and the ones with comparable experience to the Mexican doctors are asking for your firstborn. With the soaring costs of health care here, I just feel the low priced surgeons in the US must be cutting corners somewhere. Do any of you Gonzalez patients have any recommendations of things I should look out for? Any turn offs? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
  9. I have been reading all kinds of threads and posts from all of you out there..I will be selfpay (my insurance won't even considerme) so I started reading about Doctors in Mexico and Canada for some reason the $$$ difference is very high and in my case, it is what's making me look more in to Mexico, I'm 6'4" and weigh 310 lbs i have to do this if I want to have any kind of quality life otherwise everyday for me is harder and harder to do even the simplest things...I can't go on like this. Any info will be appreciated,I have to do this soon before it's too late for me. Thanks!!!!
  10. I called Dr. Gonzalez office today and I liked the tone, very knowledgeable people there, perfect English. Definitely got my attention. Answered all my questions, just gave me all the right answers. Plenty of experience and no passport needed. I'm looking further into this and I just may go with doctor Gonzalez. I really liked the price, compared to here in the good ol USA. I'm still looking a little further, just to make sure.
  11. When you say "do it all", what do you mean, what's included?? It some how sounds to good to be true for it to be in the U.S. My kid needed stitches for a cut in his arm last year and it cost me me near 2k. And somewhere I heard the band alone is like 4,000 dollars. Does he have another surgeon assisting him, or does he do it alone?? Is it in a hospital or in a clinic? I've called around and the reputable doctors go from 16,000 to 25,000. I don't know about this. Thanks for the info, I'll check into it.
