Hey All, My name is Allyson. I am 26 years old and I live in Alexandria, LA. I am being banded by Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, CO on Nov. 19th. I would love to find a Buddy who will be banded around the time that I will so that I have someone to keep close contact with and sort of "go through it together". Yes, I am going to Crown Point Surgery Center. I am a long distance patient. I knew from the beginning I would be cash patient. So I considered Mexico... but always felt uneasy... but after finding out about Dr. K on here, and his great cash price... I read amazing things about him, so... here we go!!! I am very excited. When were you banded? Any advise or tips?

I am soooo excited! After a year of back and forth I have a surgery date w/ Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, CO. I have my travel plans set and my consultation Oct. 22!!! I can hardly wait!!! :omg_smile:

Hey all!!! I am new! I have been debating lap band surgery for over a year now. I took a year to research, save money,(since I will be self-pay) and really think on this. But now I have taken the first step. I have my consultation set for August 1 with Lap band solutions in Houston, TX. I live in Louisiana and will be traveling in for my appointments and surgery. I am excited and would love to hear from anyone else who has gone through Lap Band Solutions in Houston. I believe I will have Dr. Felts... but have not confirmed this yet. Hello All, So my surgery is 5 weeks away and counting... and I have to start my pre-op diet in 3 weeks. My pre-op diet consists of 3 meals a day, 2 of those are Protein Shakes. Any suggestions on the best tasting Protein shakes/mix and any great ideas for making the shakes more interesting???

Hello Everyone! I am so excited! Tomorrow is my consultation with Dr. Malley in Kansas and I couldn't be more ready!!! I have a 3 hour drive to get there... but after doing my research the drive made sense. I recently moved from the Kansas City area... and returning for surgery was the best option for me! So... wish me luck!

Hello All, My name is Allyson and I am 25 years old. I attended the informational seminar for Dr. Malley on July 28th and have my consultation scheduled for August 24th. I am getting very excited!!! I am hoping to have my surgery between Oct. 22-26th. ( i already have some time off of work, so that would work out great!) Just wanted to say hello and see if anyone had any advice! I am using Dr. Malley in Kansas.

Hey sarah, Yes I am in KC... I have read EVERYTHING i can get my hands on... and I am failry sure that I will be going with Dr. Stuckey at the Weight Loss Surgical Center in Overland Park. It is a beautiful facility and they do the procedure there. You have very nice hospital rooms for your stay etc. It is a very nice place and everyone there has been AMAZING! You can complete a seminar online and then call to ask any questions you may have. They also have a seminar you can attend... but it is only once a month... and I was ready to get the ball rolling so I did the online seminar and then called sheila in the office with several questions. I am going to finance through Capital One... that is the company that Weight Loss Surgical Center uses. check them out at Portal-to-Go Error if you want.

I have been gathering info. From a clinic here in KC (Malley Surgical) and it looks like somewhere in the neighborhood of 16,000-18,000. Hope that helps! )

I had actually planned to take the fall semester off (we just relocated here from Mississippi) so the time frame makes it so that going ahead with the surgery now... would mean I have a firm grasp on things by the new year. I will definately let you guys know how the meeting goes!

I agree... I have decided it isn't worth the headache to deal with Insurance... my boyfriend and I are just going to self-pay... it will cut things shorter around here... but like we have all said before it is worth it.

Did any of you use financing as an option for payment? I am just curious as to what you had to do as far as that is concerned.

Also, what does that all cover? As far as fills... etc? I guess my question is... roughly what am I looking to spend in the first year.
