  1. I'm pre op but my husband and daughter both have sick symptoms and I love my emergen C- anyways reason I'm commenting is I drank half then had to help my daughter with dinner and forgot about - maybe 20 mins - and it was just like drinking flavored water!
  2. I am still pre op however with a husband who works night shift and a 1 year old. 5 days a week I am alone in caring for her so after an early morning getting her ready, dropping her off and a 9 hour day at work the LAST thing I want to do is cook- so for sure a big fear once I have surgery. I have really started "planning" meals these last few months to keep from eating out. Crock Pot is a great idea. I use mine all the time as well as good ole George. I feel like sitting down and planning it is really helpful. We sometimes wrote it down and the night before I get whatever I can ready - as far as cooking things you can't eat - I haven't dealt with that one yet but my husband may be on his own there! Lol! Good luck - I know it's hard!! I'd hate to count these changes to my bank account! It's so much easier and quicker but the least healthy option most of the time - trying to make myself understand this!
  3. I am currently pre op - we are working on a December surgery! One thing I wanted to do during my waiting period is figure out the food an Protein shakes so I can be prepared. I found a pre made shake that I love an meets the requirements of Protein and sugar - is this all I will need - Can I drink all pre made shakes or do I have to have the powder too ? And from what I read being barely able to eat or drink how on earth did you get enough protein in right after surgery ? These shakes are 11oz and 30grams of protein - is it possible to get two of those in a day ? Ok and food - lots of questions I know! Sorry I'm a planner!! I am in major need of ideas for food - what food did you purée and when you went back to solids what meals work for you? Any suggestions on things to have in the house after surgery are greatly appreciated!
  4. December here! Shooting for maybe the second week - I will have completed my 6 month medically monitored diet on 11/25 so / crossing my fingers!!
