  1. Yes they warned me about food fantasies though I never thought they would be this bad. I have wanted a crab cake or chicken broccoli thin crust pizza for the last 3 days. Now mentally I know I can't and when i finally can the crab has to be baked and I won't eat more then two bits of the pizza or crab but the fantasies are still there. I am not eating too much post OP or to fast but my problem has been my sips take a lot of air with them when I am drinking my fluids. I have done more ice chips and sf popsicles to avoid it but any other liquids air bubbles come and they are so uncomfortable.
  2. So I am four day post OP and for the first time today I feel more like me. Still dealing with not getting alot of air in while eating and drinking, that seems to be the most painful thing so far. Walking every hour and keeping to a schedule is tough but I am getting the hang of it. Prepping meals for my family had been interesting. The food smells good but I have no desire for it except tomato sauce so far, but I settle that with my tomato soup and some unflavored protein powder. Any other first weekers out there? How's it going for you?
  3. 3 days for us sept 3rds! Woohoo its so close! I get the having people against your choice. My family thankfully stopped arguing with me about 3 months in and realized I am going to do what I want but its strangely enough my best friends grandmother (who is so close she's family to me) that is all over social media you don't need to do that it is not the right choice and my family and friends are worried she will weaken me but I keep telling everyone there is no turning back now, I already have the finish line to this race and the starting line to the next in my eye sight. Stay strong eventually they will see your not backing down!
  4. Robe, slippers, clean underwear, note pad, pen and chapstick. Oh and phone charger. That's what my friend recommended. He said the note pad to write down things as you are coming out of your anaesthesia fog and chapstick because your lips are so dry afterwards.
  5. So close! I have ticker on my phone counting down to the 3rd less than 4 days and 19 hours to go! Whoot!

    hip hop classes

I go in Tuesday for surgery and always have been very active for my weight which surprises my surgeon and my pcp and I am a quick healer as well. I am registered for a hip hop class this year at my daughters dance school (finally brave enough) and I am hearing roughly 2-3 weeks before cardio which is all the dance class really is. Anyway class starts Wednesday I know their is no way the day after surgery I well be up for dancing and so does the teacher. I told her two to three weeks after surgery and she's okay with that. I am going to ask the surgeon at the hospital q&a the morning of surgery but want to get a feel from other patients. When did you start your cardio?

    hip hop classes

Yeah my surgeon requires all patients to be up and attempting to walk two hours after surgery and fully up and walking after four hours. Then for ten mins every hour you are awake you lap the floor and the nurses are on you about getting up. He is strict and that's one of the reasons I wanted him for my surgery. Another reason ifs he holds you accountable and I need that kind of person pushing me, testing my buttons and boundaries.
  8. I am sept 3rd too...can't wait just this weekend to get through and then its here! Good luck to you!!
