  1. How are you doing Jess?
  2. Wow that is a lot! I am almost 5 weeks post op of just the tummy tuck. I'm so happy I did it!
  3. How long ago did you have yours Jess?
  4. I am reluctant to post pictures as my incision line is very low! I still have some swelling but I am completely satisfied and have NO regrets! My insurance coverage was 2k and my fee was 5k. I am 4 weeks post op and feel completely healed. When are you scheduled?
  5. Day 3 was the worst and the first time I took any pain mess. My doc gave me Percocet (low dose) and I only needed it day 3. I am day 13 post op today and went to work. I did get tired but I feel great. Good luck to you and let me know if you have any questions!
  6. I just have to say looking back I am glad it was outpatient. The suture line is huge and at least I know how clean my home was and my carefiver( husband) kept my environment exceptionally sterile which is key and even high rated hospitals have germs. I felt better at home.
  7. Spirited.....every doc has their own negotiated price with tricare. Mine hasn't been processed yet. Are you just having the panniculectomy? I do have pics but not to be posted publicly. I also promised my surgeon I wouldn't share until I was more healed. Do you have questions? I'll be happy to help if I can.
  8. Just had my TT on 04/28! Feeling sore but totally self sufficient. So thankful for my surgeon and his team! Completely happy!
  9. Post op day 3 of abdomnioplasty and couldn't be more happy!
  10. Congratulations!! As I said, Tricare is only covering the panniculectomy. My plastic surgeon didn't even submit for abdomnioplasty as it is strictly cosmetic and won't be covered which I believe because he had to talk with tricare multiple times just to get panniculectomy approval. I am content with the discount I am getting and now focusing on the procedure and recovery......you should hear from me next week!
  11. You have one shot to appeal the denial. The letter you write is important so take your time with it the only other thing is to pick a plastic surgeon that will fight for you? Mine was imperative in getting the appeal reversed.
  12. I wrote a letter stating briefly my journey and explaining the continued success of my weightloss would depend on the skin removal. I believe it helped that I submitted a letter from my bariatric surgeon as well as my PCM that is was necessary and not for cosmosis.
  13. Thank you ladies.....scheduled for late April!
  14. Well I won my appeal! It's not even going to cover half but I am glad it is covering some. It pays to stick with something!
  15. Like I said, I am moving forward with a well documented PS but at the price tag it would be great for tricare to cover any portion. I have documented psoriasis and I am still having to appeal.
  16. I chew gum with no issues...just very careful not to swallow it!
  17. Well I am moving forward wether they approve or not. I submitted letters from 3 doctors saying it was not cosmetic. Can't do much more!
  18. Thanks for the info....I did find out that tricare is working my appeal, it would be very nice to have them cover a portion of it but I'm doing it anyway! Fingers are still crossed! Which base are you at?
  19. Hope you don't mind me asking but how did you get a dog ear? What exactly is it?
  20. Yes, went to see a new surgeon who was much better. Unfortunately I still got denied by Tricare. ???? I have decided to move forward anyway while they work my appeal. Surgery set for late April due to a cruise. I'm so excited but now nervous. Thanks for checking. Curious but not hopeful with the appeal!
  21. . thank you! I'm excited!
  22. Ok tummy tuck take two....just found another surgeon and so far so good....submitting to insurance so fingers and toes are crossed!!
  23. I had the band in 2008 and then had it removed in 2012, my surgeon made me wait 6 months and then did bypass. I don't regret any of it. I actually have been a slow looser after my bypass but they told me to expect that. I couldn't do the sleeve due to "where" the lap band did the damage.
