- 4th day post surgery pain
For my post op diet I'm allowed 6-8 servings Protein shake per day, each is 120ml over 2 hrs, filling in the time with crystal lite, Jello, broth, tea, coffee. On Sept 4 I can ask about adding soft foods. SD aug 19 SW 387- Things I will not miss...
I completely agree! And I'm sorry if this is TMI but I can't wait until I can comfortably wipe myself while in a stall. Right now I use the handicapped one because of all the twisting I have to do.- pain
I take one pain pill twice a day if I'm in a vehicle but sometimes just one before bed. I've always liked sleeping on my sides but I'm still too sore, so my back it is.- pain
I'm 5 days post.- pain
My back has been hurting a bit too. I think it's because I'm afraid to stretch too much. One weird thing I have is some soreness on my right side even though all of my incisions are to the left.- Packing
Hi. It went well. I went in Mon morning & I'm hopefully discharged within a couple hours. Third day was the hardest. My IV bent & my hand swelled up. They tried 6 other places before putting it in the crook of my arm. Lots of bruises.- Things I will not miss...
I won't miss having trouble getting in/out of vehicles, chairs, booths. Always feeling like people are judging me. Only having 2 stores to shop in. Sweating while getting dressed after a shower. Getting winded going up stairs. Everyone in my family automatically letting me sit shotgun because they know I won't fit in the back or the seatbelt won't fit. Not being able to kneel or squat to play with friends kids. Not feeling worthy of having a boyfriend....so many more- Packing
Thanks for suggesting a sports bra. I went to Penningtons and bought 2 today. My surgery is Monday morning.- Changing provinces
Hi. I just moved to Regina in April for work. Before this I was living in Prince Albert. I grew up in that area, where are you going to teach? What grade? My mom & a few friends are teachers as well. Unfortunately the program is only in Regina.- Changing provinces
In Saskatchewan we have a province sponsored bariatric program but it can take a long time. I have a cousin who did the lap band in Winnipeg for $17000 but I don't have to pay anything here. You need to reside here for (I think) 6 months then get a family doctor referral. You have to meet certain criteria and go through a 6 month program by meeting with a nutritionist, therapist and exercise therapist. If they approve you its a 4-6 month wait for the surgery. The time from my referral to acceptance was about 1.5 yrs. From starting the program to my surgery date is 11 months. I hope this info is helpful.- what to bring on surgery day
- vitamins
Like the children's Flintstones? Ahhh my childhoods coming back to me. I liked the purple Pebbles. Well poo, I might have to return this stuff- vitamins
Hey everyone. My surgery is Aug 19 so I went out & bought a multivitamin, calcium citrate, b12. But I'm wondering now if I should have bought chewables. Any opinions? - 4th day post surgery pain
