It is my understanding that when they build a new condo complex, etc... they must integrate low income housing into a percentage of each building. You won't have a luxuy condo like your neighbors, but unless someone comes inside, they would not no any different. You will have like normal carpet, smaller unit, lower grade appliances, etc. If you not going to leave until 2015, you should get yourself on the list so that by the time you leave, your name might be called and I don't think you need a lot of money to close. Just a thought. I totally understand the money situation because I am also broke.

My biggest fear is they start to operate and I'm not asleep and I can't tell them I'm asleep. When is your surgery? Mine is Nov. 8th. Good luck to us.

I'm so sorry. Where are your protein shakes? You must have more protein so you can sustain your body. I think you would feel better too, I am just guessing because my surgery isn't till Nov. 8th, but I think that's the general rule. I pretty sure you need about 90 g of protein a day. Good luck to you and please cheer up. Your new life has begun and I know you are going to do so good.

Very good info to know. I have been drinking Pure Protein from Walmart and I actually really love it. Stacy have you started trying different kinds yet? I am very nervous but super excited also. I pretty sure this is all normal.

Chaych - I also heard good things about Dr. Ortiz. It is so far for me to San Diego. 6 hours. I also checked Puerto Vallarta and was really considering going there but it also is so far and I had to change planes twice. I worried about coming home after the surgery with such a big trip. So... I decided on Cancun and yes, I will have a little mini vacation to recover in. Oh, forgot to tell you. I changed to Cancun after I wrote this original post. Keep in touch. I am really, really nervous but very excited at the same time. Do you have to do a 2 week pre op? I do. My surgery date is Nov. 8, 2013..

Nursejb - How exciting is that? You're date is coming up fast. I'll be thinking of you. Hopefully you will keep me informed of how it's going, etc...I will be 1 month and 8 days behind you. You can prepare me. Did you have to do a 2 week pre op. I do. Don't know how I will get through it, but I will.

I am a smoker. Not good, I know. However, I honestly don't think I can even cut down on smoking before my surgery in November 2013. Has anyone ever walked a mile in my shoes? If so, how did you make out? Thank you.

Where are you traveling from and what doctor have you decided on? Please keep in touch because I am also having rny and would love to go through it with someone else.

I've heard of Dr. Lopez too. I am also going to Mexico to have my gastric bypass as I have no insurance. May I ask where you are going and who is his doctor. Also, why does he have to start his preop diet now if he isn't going until December?

I am planning on having my surgery on October 11, 2013. I am so scared of the pre op 2 week diet. If I couldn't stop eating before, what makes me think I am going to be able to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks. Congratulations to you. One day down. Way to go!!!
