  2. Hey everyone, I'm new. My name is Sara. I've bee working on getting gastric bypass since the beginning of the year. I'm in the final stages and just waiting for my approval call from the insurance for my surgery date. I'm so excited. But... I'm a lesbian. I have two kids (we had them together) they are one and two. We have been married for 8 years. I got married when I was 19 years old. Well, about three weeks ago we decided that we were going to separate because she is identifying as straight. The emotional roller coaster I have been on since then has been intense. My heart is in pieces. Not to drag on the saga, but I'm worried now about getting the surgery. Am I doing too much too soon? Should I wait? Will this surgery help me move on because I'm becoming a different woman?
