Hello Everyone!!! Im 2 weeks away from surgery and all I've been hearing and reading is how gastric bypass is bad. I've heard that it makes u bald, you have long term complications, and that the surgery takes years off your life just the same as being overweight. My mind a mess. I've been so stressed since I've got my surgery date. Really thinking about not going through with the surgery. I don't know what to do. :-(

DlCoggin, wow!!! Thanks! I needed to read something like that. Yet again I find myself with tears in my eyes. I don't know what I would do without the support of everyone from this site. All the advice is definitely making me think things different.

Wow surgery is right around the corner for you! Are u nervous at all? Did you have a pre OP diet? If you don't mind me asking how much weight do you need to lose?

Im in tears now. im so stressed. I get so much support here and zero at home. I think maybe my problem is that im not used to putting myself first. I've always put everyone above myself. Im not sure why my boyfriend is against me having this surgery. we have a 12 month old baby together. I don't know what to do.

Hello Everyone! Im 2 weeks away from surgery. My boyfriend has not been supportive of me since day 1. He told me that the surgery is bullshit and to just do it on my own. It's easy for him to say that, he is tall, skinny, and fit. He says I'll die if I have the surgery. Even told me today that if I have the surgery he was breaking up with me. Ugh!!!!! He has my mind all messed up and has me second guessing my surgery. :-(

well im glad to hear im not the only one that dosent have a pre op diet and wants to binge on my favorite foods before surgery. When is your surgery date Lou?

Hello Everyone!!! Surgery is 2 weeks away. My doctor has not given me a pre op diet. Has anyone else not had on either? I see a lot of people have pre op diets that are weeks and months long. Im very tempted to have a last meal binge soon.

Hello Nicole!!! My surgery date is May 8th. Im excited but scared now that I finally have a date. I have no pre OP diet as of yet. I see my doctor on the 2ND. I'll only have six days after that. Not sure what six days of dieting will do before surgery.

Hello! My surgery date is May 8th. Im excited but super nervous. Anyway, what did everyone do about all the extra skin? I can not afford any kind of cosmetic surgery afterwards. Just wondering what everyone is doing about it. Thanks! :-)

Thanks Cathy!! It took me a long time to get here. I did my 6 month diet last year and the end of my sixth month I got pregnant. So, I had put it off until I had the baby. I had to start all over again and put in another 6 months. Anyway, im done with everything and my surgery is May 8th. Im excited but scared now that I have a date.
