I am a 46 year old mother of 1 daughter and I have been married for 26 years. I worked for over 20 years as as RN before having to quit and take disabiity a couple of years ago due to MS and depression.
I'm 5'3 and weight 307lbs. I am in the process now of getting medical records to the surgeon and waiting on a psychiatric eval to get my insurance approval for gastric bypass. The surgeon's office says they will have no trouble with my insurance- Humana Medicare Advantage.
Daily life has become a struggle for me. I have severe pain in my back on standing or walking and shortness of breath when doing anything that requires much exertion. My husband and daughter do the housework and I shop at WalMart where I can use the electric scoooters.
I am praying this surgery will give me my life back. I know it's not an easy way out. I am prepared to put alot of hard work into it. I have already started trying to make some changes like giving up caffiene and carbonated drinks.
Just waiting on a surgery date!
