  1. This makes me feel better. I'm still on puréed for a few more days and then soft foods. I have to just stop eating when I feel I should as I don't feel full. Hoping, like you, I'll feel fullness when I have real foods instead of mush. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  2. My 28s that I wore to work today were a little baggy! The were my favorite work pants but happy to move down! I had surgery on may 30th and I've already lost 24 pounds! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  3. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  4. Since my boss is being so great (he loves me anyway) I'm working just till early afternoon this week so I don't overdo it. I don't think I could have stayed any longer than I did today anyway. I left at 1. I was so tired and having some pain in my butt from sitting so long- starting in the hospital from laying in the bed my butt was sore and then went numb. So the work chair was bothering me pretty bad- guess I need to buy a cushion- it never bothered me before. I didn't nap when I got home though I was exhausted- the heat outside isn't helping that. I was afraid if I napped I'd have trouble sleeping again tonight. I took a shower when I got home and removed my steri strips. Then I laid down and watched a movie. My sister brought me a cup of sonic ice which made me very happy. I'm not getting enough fluids yet- I'm still eating on these. I know I'll sleep good tonight. I'm so relieved I don't have to work all day this week. Thursday afternoon I have my follow up with surgeon. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  5. Yes! I had mine the week before surgery then 3 days after surgery it came back! I was like no its not time. Surgery was on 5/30 and I'm still bleeding- it's not heavy and hasn't been but its annoying. Needs to stop already. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  6. Fantastic! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  7. The melatonin let me fall asleep. I did toss and turn a lot the past few hours but overall a much better night than the one before. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  8. By 3 days out I was able to sleep on my sides. I don't do well on my back. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  9. I think it's because we are in ketosis. I'm dealing with it too. One poster suggested brushing your teeth extra times a day. It's awful! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  10. My boss is awesome- said if I need to leave just let someone know and go. I'm going to work just a half day today and leave at 12... 5 minutes from now. Having some gas and keep feeling like I need to hit the bathroom. Called surgeon office today and they said the anesthesia messed up some people's sleep patterns and that I should get some liquid Benadryl or dissolvable melatonin to help me sleep. I can't have another night like last night! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  11. So I got about 2 hours sleep. I should have taken something to sleep I guess. The past couple of nights I've had trouble sleeping- anyone else have trouble sleeping after surgery? The first week out I slept a lot and now nothing. I had no trouble before surgery with insomnia. I was worried about getting tired at work today and that's a guarantee now as I'm already tired. 12. I had my sister take me to Walmart sooner than I drove lol so I feel you there. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  13. And now of course I'm having trouble sleeping. Having some incision pain on left side of belly button. It's not bad just annoying. I wish I had some pain meds left- at least maybe I could get some sleep that way. Stomach is making a ton of noise and so I keep thinking I need the bathroom but nothing is happening. 14. I drove for the first time at 8 days post op. I could have sooner- surgeon said not for 5 days and only if I'm not taking pain killers. I just had no need prior to that to go anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  15. I wish I could stay out longer but I had to use vacation time and didn't have a lot. Haven't been there a year so couldn't use medical leave. For food tomorrow I packed a few things to have while at work- some Refried Beans with little sour cream- the beans are my favorite right now, a premade Protein shake, and a sugar free pudding. I'm also going to pack some crystal light to sip on. I have a very busy job though its all at my desk. I seriously expect a couple hundred emails when I get in. When I'm out for a day of two I end up with 60-80 so am not looking forward to that! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  16. I return to work tomorrow- it's a desk job so I only took a little over a week off. Surgery Thursday the 30th and back tomorrow. I am nervous about how I'll do. I have packed my food for lunch and feel as prepared as possible. In other news since surgery I have lost 22 pounds... That's 22 pounds in 9 days (weighed this morning). That is crazy!! 17. Gas ex. And honestly -if you can handle this... Roll onto your side -prop pillow under belly. And kind of pull your knees up a bit. That helped me pass gas like nothing else. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  18. Liking Refried Beans with little light sour cream, cottage cheese, sugar free pudding, mashed potatoes- going to try to add some unflavored Protein to this. I bought some grits but haven't tried those yet. Trying to get as much protein in these ways as I can- already tired of shakes. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  19. I have this feeling too. I go in the bathroom and I'm like please just let me need to pee. It hurts and like you I'm regular. I started taking a stool softener a few days ago but it looks like I may need to take more than 1 a day. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  20. I'm a week+ post op. I'm doing alright- dealing with some head hunger occasionally but I'm fighting it. Enjoying some puréed foods now. I don't think I'm getting enough liquids or Protein yet. I can't tell when I'm hungry or full so eating is tough. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  21. I'm over a week out and my dr ok'ed mashed potatoes for me. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
  22. Yay for naps and crystal light! Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
