Just got out of the Dr. he gave me a 5 day zpack since surgery in 9 days and cough meds w/codeine

I was worried about taking antibiotics before surgery. Idk if it would be an issue with my surgeon or not. But, I'm here at my PCP office. They've been working closely together. So, I'm sure he might have some answers for me soon.

How did I know that I would end up a stuffy mess right before surgery? I've been working on this process for 7 months, I finally have surgery in 10 days and I'm sick! I'm almost afraid to go to the Dr. For fear that they'll tell me I can't get surgery because I'm sick. Stuffy, sore throat, ear ache. If they put my on antibiotics, do you think that would delay my surgery for any reason?

6lbs down in 3 days on my preop diet! That's definitely motivation! 10 days til surgery.

I've tried alot of Proteins and chocolate is always the way to go. Steer away from vanilla or strawberry. Always a weird taste to them. Lol I have the body fortress chocolate and it's really good! Tastes like chocolate milk.

My surgiversery/birthday next year will consist of skydiving since I'll be under the weight limit!

Once my insurance approved me, my surgeons office also did a board meeting and decided if they would perform the surgery (mainly because I was a smoker and she haaaates smokers) but, from what I understand it was routine for them to go over your file again before agreeing to operating. They are taking a huge risk by saying they will... Your surgeon has to have faith in you just like you have faith in them. Luckily, they approved me without a problem. But, if they would have denied me based on something ridiculous like being a PREVIOUS smoker.. I would have found a different surgeon too. (She did make me take a Nicotine test though to prove I had quit)

I started my process Sept. 28, 2012. Time went by really fast up to this point. Playing the waiting game is the hardest part. Surgery scheduled May 2nd! Yours will be here before you know it. My suggestion.. Don't obsess. It makes time go slower. Lol I feel that is what slowed down the clock for me. The closer it got the more videos, research, shopping an talking I am doing about it just make it feel like these 2 weeks are years away. Good luck!

Start my 2wk Pre-op diet tomorrow!! The only guidelines my nut gave me was 1200 calories. I have decided on doing a mostly liquid diet. I got the shakes from dietdirect.com They are called Wonder slim. They are 100 calories per shake and you drink 7 of them per day and 2 - 250 calorie meals. I decided on this so I am not hungry for 2wks! I'm really excited to start! My order arrived today. A little expensive. But, I guess I won't be spending anything on food really. 12 boxes of shakes for $128

Yay! Getting closer and closer!

I can't wait to pull that drivers seat up a bit and my tummy not come close to the steering wheel. I finally bought my pretty little Mustang. Now I can't wait to fit into it like I should!

22 days for me! I know how eager you are. It's all I seem to think about, constantly!

Haha My surgery date is a May 2nd & my birthday is May 4th! Giving myself the best birthday present ever!

Haha yeah, my little Gigi is a licker too. She pretty much makes a split second decision to look at me then pounce then start licking my face. She's a little turd. My other one, Hank, only jumps on me usuall, when he wants luvins or has to potty. But, he's alot older and slower than miss G.

They told me that the Surgery Center would call me the day before as to when to be there. My form that she gave me said 7am but, Idk how accurate that is. Sooo antsy only 23 Days! when do you start your pre op diet?
