  1. Hello All! I have been reading your posts for the last two weeks and decided that it was about time for me to join. I have been considering RNY for several years, but always had one reason (excuse) or another to stop me. Well, it's time to take care of myself now! I went to the information seminar on January 29th, immediately made appointments for colonoscopy and mammogram (my sweet dad passed away on Christmas Eve from lung cancer . ...had colon cancer a few years ago) so my PCP wants to rule that out for me. I had my 1st PCP appointment on 2/6 and will have blood work results back next week. I also have psych appointment scheduled for early March. I am so excited about the future for the first time in a very long time! My insurance (BCBS Alabama) does cover the procedure and I will have about $400 out of pocket expenses. I look forward to celebrating with all of you as we change our lives for the better! I am hoping for a mid-July surgery date, as I am a Staff Training Specialist with my school district and would like to not have to use up a lot of leave at the beginning of the school year.
