  1. Hi! I was also banded 12/06. I am down 87 pounds with about 23 to go. I also love my band & wouldn't trade it for anything. I have found that things have slowed up a lot now. Each pound is a hard won battle. But that's okay as long as they keep coming off. Stick with it!
  2. Hi! I had the dizziness/lightheadedness & it was because of my blood pressure. I am on blood pressure meds & because of my weight loss my blood pressure went down. Between the weight loss & the meds my blood pressure was too low. My internist lowered my meds but still dizziness. My blood pressure was still too low. My meds were lowered again & my blood pressure is now normal & no more dizziness/lightheadedness. Have you had your blood pressure checked?
  3. I am not quite 50 but I was banded just after my 47th birthday (close enough) & am down 70 pounds (including presurgical diet) since Dec. 06. My rate of loss had definetly slowed up now but I am certainly in the 1 -2 pound/week range. I lost 20 pounds in the last 3 months. I would not let age deter you. The band is the best!
  4. Hi there! I was also banded in Dec. 2006 (actually 12/26!). I know what you mean about plateaus. I just hit 70 pounds last week. But I had been stuck at 65 for a long time & then all of a sudden down 5. But I see it happening again I go up & down with the same 1 1/2 pounds for weeks & weeks & then a good loss & then nothing for a while. I guess that is just my body. I know what you mean about lovin' the band. It is the best. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Just stick with it--it will come.
  5. Wow 84 lbs! Thats fab! I really think that I need more exercise. Yucckk!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Hi Denise! Do all liquids help? Do you do protein shakes? I think I need a kick start. I might give it a try.
  7. I just joined today! I've been looking for threads from Dec. 06 folks and never saw any before today--thats why I joined today. I was banded on 12/26 by Dr. marc Bessler from Columbia at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. I am down 62 pounds (including preop diet) but boy are things getting slow now! Any tips to speed things up without a fill (I think that I have enough restriction)?
  8. Hi there! I have been scanning posts as a guest for a while & finally decided to join. I don't know what took me so long. I was banded on Dec. 26, 2006 (hey, I want to find all of you other Dec. 06 folks) and am down 62 pounds (including the pre-op diet) and have about 48 pound to go. More than half way there! I wish I had found out about the band sooner! Do you all love your bands?
