  3. Thanks Lulu and Whosya on the weight loss!! I get really frustrated when my scale doesn't move - grrrrrr. I know - the #(*#%&^ scale is evil and I can't stay off of it!! My new mantra - I'm gaining muscle - I'm gaining muscle - that's why I'm not losing weight. Oh yeah - I need some fairy dust ... Have fun skiing Lulu!! My DH wants to do snowboarding next time we go. Scares me a tad and NO way they are getting me on one. Last time I went (13 years ago) I fell down after the first trip up and had to be ski'd down in a body bag - nice. I'm hoping I'm a little more coordinated now so next time I won't hurt myself! wombat
  4. Amen Grace!! I couldn't say that any better
  5. Went to the gym did 30min run and 45min spin class anyway. You did BOTH?!?!?! Good Lord!!!!! Oooooh, I'm jealous - running outside in FL ... sounds Heavenly
  6. Yea Tex!!! {{hugs}} for you Ran day 2 of week 5 today - kicked my booty. I still did my last minute sprint but I really didn't think I had it in me. I was reaching to slow it down just as the time ran out so I just made it. :blushing: YIKES - day 3 is 20min!!!! OMG!!!!!!

  8. I love this shrinking thing!!! We should all be proud of ourselves for taking the step to changing our lives!! We are all at various stages of this journey and yet it is still amazing to see the results in each of us  I started at an 18 - almost 20 and wearing 2x shirts. I'm now wearing 10's comfortably and starting to move into some 8's. I had to buy a size 8 this past weekend and I almost danced for joy!!!! I can wear a large shirt now - I didn't think I would get below a 1X because I'm kindof chesty. I still get some 1X's because of the fit. I can't deal with gaping buttons. I still hate that I'm an apple shape. Most of my last 20+ pounds are all in my stomach!!! If I could just chop it off I would be at least a 6 if not a 4. Grrrrr! Darn genetics!(@*#%$ {{hugs}} wombat
  9. Cool!! Thanks Steph
  10. {{hugs}} for you LJM!!! You are going to do fabulously and look absolutely Mahvelous when it's over  You are in my prayers! wombat
  11. can I ask what skin brushing is? I finally got a cream for the scars and they are starting to lighten up. (umm it's been 8 months!!) I just don't remember to do all this work. I can barely remember my daily facial lotion to tighten up that skin!!
  12. Whosya - I didn't make it. I'm up 3.8 from that goal. I didn't lose any weight last week - not sure why (yeah right). My goals are stretch goals otherwise I get too lax I'm starting to get comfortable with my size and it's affecting my eating. I need to recommit to my eating so I can get those last pounds off!!! lulu - 5.1 is not slow!!!! I jog at 4.4 or 4.5. I only sprint for 60 seconds You are doing amazing!!! And I agree - that is just the cutest pup!!!!! Is it a shitzhu? (I can't spell)
  13. Hello - thanks for the invite Foofy lol I'm not entirely sure of my current measurement so I will retake that when I get home. 14. Woohooo stranger!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome awesome!!!! I started week 5 today Ok - I was a total slacker and skipped day 3 of week 4. :frown: Saturday was my b-day and I just didn't want to run so I told myself I would run on Sunday - well you know how well that went. Then I didn't want to throw off my schedule - excuses excuses. So I decided to suck it up and just start week 5 and take the punishment. It wasn't so bad!!! I was still able to sprint the last minute at 6.0mph. I'm always concerned that I'm going to trip or stumble and send myself flying off of the treadmill. I can see the light at the end. I'm getting closer and closer to really enjoying this. I didn't want to run this morning AT ALL!!!! But I knew I would feel great once I got it done. Y'all are awesome - have a SPECTACULAR day!!!! wombat
  15. congrats kyteach!!! What a success faithmd - how are you gonna keep 'em on or up with 100 gone? I couldn't keep my pants on after 60 pounds. I could de-pants myself walking across the room. I only have about 4 outfits in any size as I've been going down. I just can't afford to shop that much
  16. welcome back Holli!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO for you!!!!!
  17. woohoo reif78!! That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Hugs and prayers for all you "newbies"!!!!! God is sooooo good!! He knows the desires of our hearts and will grant them to us! What brings such a warm fuzzy to my heart is knowing that where two or three are gathered in his name (right here on this site) there I am in the midst of them!! GOD IS HERE!!! {{hugs}} wombat
  19. LULU - I'm impressed that you are on week 6!!!! You're a real jogger now!! I, too, hope to do this forever. I don't have a love for it when I'm doing it but I feel fantastic when I get done! My biggest concern is just the distance and time! I am not trying to increase speed until after I get through the program. I am running at 4.4 and walking at 3.0. I just push it for that last final minute. lol, I am not trying to get to running that hard the whole time!! I'm 5'0" tall so I think that was about the max I can take with my short legs. I may up the running to 4.5 just because I find myself crowding the front and it's harder to keep myself back than it is to go up one more notch. Does that make sense? Maybe that's how you know you need to speed up - I don't know. I started at 4.3 running and moved it up when I had the same issue before. How do y'all know when to up your speed? Happy running! wombat
  20. If I'm not retarded and this actually works, then this is the link... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f64/dfw-meet-up-50228/#post695640
  21. ja9va - DFW is Dallas/Fort Worth area Big Baby - I didn't remember you being from this area!! y'all DFW's - they are trying to organize a meet up somewhere around here. It's under the Texas thread. I haven't looked in a few days so I don't know if they've picked a place and a date yet.
  22. Did another day of week 4. This time I up'd my last minute to 6.0 mph!! Holy cow!! I forgot what number I used last time and I thought the 5.0 felt a little slow and that I could run a little faster. Who knew - I'm well on my way to becoming a jogger! Have a FABULOUS Thursday!!! wombat
  23. oh - and wouldn't a helmet mess up my hair? lol
  24. I hear ya!! My issues is that I have no way of transporting my bike. I have a cruiser (yep - old lady bike) because of my arthritis. Bending forward and leaning on my hands doesn't work well for me. It does sound like fun though! wombat
  25. Stef - you would be an AWESOME personal trainer!!! Feel free to use me as a guinea pig anytime!! Bigbaby - you will get there!! The 1's are just around the corner! Ja9va - welcome back!! My DH used to have seasonal depression too - every winter like clockwork. I know it's hard to keep eating solid foods that get stuck when you just want to eat something!! Even if it isn't the greatest. {{hugs}} Do any of y'all like shrimp and clam chowder? I have a fabulous recipe from a lap-band book that is to die for! It tastes like clam chowder but is made w/ shrimp. If you puree it then it's like a bisque - and ... the best part is, is that it's super healthy!
