January 2013 Post Op
I think you should try the isopure for yourself. I do not like any flavor but the grape. I am a huge fan of crystal light and to me it just tastes like another flavor of crystal light. I like it right out of the bottle, but I like it more mixed with grape propel. You have to keep an open mind about this stuff. I had my band for three years and protein shakes were a big part of my life. I've tried just about every brand out there and this was the least offensive one to me. I know you can find it at gnc and on Amazon.

January 2013 Post Op
- Jan 14... My LUCKY day!
So far so good since my revision from band to bypass 1/14. I've been home several days, drinking my liquids, and taking long walks! My scale jumped about 10 pounds while I was in the hospital (I was mad even though I was expecting it), but I have lost all that and am down 3 pounds from my weight Monday morning. I am hoping that in a few more days I will see better progress as more of the swelling goes down and I lose the rest of this painful gas. The gas has been the worst part. The pain with the conversion is well controlled with the drugs the doc prescribes and you can be up and moving around that first night. Overall, I am still shocked at how "easy" the whole thing was to go through.- dairy free protein shake?
I had my surgery this past Monday and the hospital served me the Grape Isopure. I was so blown away that I used my iPad in the hospital to order some from Amazon. It is dairy and lactose free, tastes great, and doesn't have that Protein after taste. The nurse gave me a suggestion that I have been following and I am telling anyone who will listen. Prepare an Isopure mixture of Isopure Grape Frost with Propel Zero grape. I have done the mixtures from half and half to more or less protein depending on where I am with my protein and liquid intake for the day. Since I am on liquids, I start the day with half/half and as the day progresses I just mix it up based on my needs. It tastes great and makes it so I only need the one bottle to carry around! I also read on Amazon that you can do something similar by mixing up a batch of grape koolaid (the mix itself is sugar free) with regular Water and using it to mix with the Isopure. I chose not to do that because of the extra "stuff" in the propel.- January Dates

Anyone else having amazing grumbling going on in their belly? I was "running" to the bathroom every time it started but just ended up sitting there listening to it rumble. I have had a few movements, but they were not solid and the grumbling only stops for a few minutes after I go. I hope someone else with surgery 1/14 is having this same thing and maybe someone a week further out can tell me when it went away!!- January Dates

Just left the hospital and am heading home. I have had some pretty bad pain at night , but I walked a ton and it helped get those pains to go away. I am still on the pain meds, but I was able to pass gas, burp, pee, and drink drink drink! I am looking forward to getting home and really getting this journey started!- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
Everything went fantastic this morning. I am in a very nice private room and have been sucking on ice chips since I woke up. I've already had my first walk up and down the hall!- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
All done and in my hospital room! Everything went very well!- January Dates

Can't believe I made it to today!! My surgery is at 7:30am so checkin at the hospital is just over an hour away!!- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
That is the primary reason my doc said no sleeve. It is what I wanted once I knew my band was coming out but the risk for the reflux worsening is too high.- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
Good luck to you too! I cannot wait for this band to come out and I start losing weight again. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14

You must be in Colorado! I started this whole wls experience at Dr Chae's seminar 3.5 years ago! I ended up being banded 3 years ago by Dr Tillquist and will be having my band removed and revised to bypass on the 14th! Good luck on Monday!!- January Dates
I was just moved up from a Feb date to 1/14!! I pre-op tomorrow and check in to the hospital at 5:30 on Monday morning!- Band to Bypass Scheduled for 1/14
I was banded just over three years ago and had lost 100 pounds the first year (still had 50 to go to get to goal). I kept it off for the second year, but the third year I had a lot of problems, ended up having all of the Fluid taken out of my band, and gained about 50 pounds. My biggest problem ended up being reflux. I have been taking Protonix but once the reflux got to its current point, my surgeon decided it wasn't a good idea to do any additional adjustments even though I had very little restriction. He suggested that we get the band out and revise to bypass. After jumping through all the pre-op hoops for the second time I was just scheduled for surgery on 1/14! I am excited, nervous, and a lot scared. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated! - Jan 14... My LUCKY day!
