I did not mean to question you. I know that's probably how I came off to you and I owe you an apology. I meant to question Wasa NOT you. You shouldn't have had the beer and the big meal, but that was your choice. If Aceves instructed you not to then ...you bad! If you had a good experience, that's great and you have every right to post here. However, I'm sick and tired of Wasa accusing EVERYONE that doesn't agree with her of making money when that is exactly what she is here for! I also was accused of being the author of the other post, which I was not. My point is that no one here knows who ANYBODY really is, so proceed with caution. I agree with you. I guess what I meant to say is after asking a LOT of questions and if you feel good about the answers, etc. then it's a good place to start.

Many of us here had surgery in Mexico. A place to start would be to click on the ads to the right. Call them and ask a lot of questions and see what feels right to you.

I am simply asking to correspond with anyone that has had complications after using this surgeon. If you didn't use him, then ignore the question. If you did and didn't have a complication, then ignore the question. (Then you go on to say that you have all the answers about which docs have the best and which docs have the worst reps. I would like to hear from patients that were banded in Tijuana Mexico by Dr. Ariel Ortiz Lagardere that are experiencing unresolved complications, or have experienced complications, including erosion, bowel/esophageal perforations, slips, esophageal spasms, improper band placement, poor weight loss and weight regain or any other complication. Let me know if you still have your band too. Please send me an IM or email with your phone number or email address.

I personally think that it doesn't matter if it the slip was Ortiz's fault or the patient's fault. He should not ignore her. The story said she tried to contact him for a year. How was she suppose to go back to him to get checked when he didn't call her back? I don't think it matters if the doctor is Mexican or if he is American. A doctor should not ignore a patient that has a complication and tried to call him! I have contacted the news station to try to get in touch with this person. I'm interested in learning more.

It shows the reporter trying to reach the clinic. His calls were not returned either. They also interviewed the surgeon who took out her band. He tried to reach the clinic to get her records and had someone on his team "that speaks fluent Spanish" contact the clinic. Ortiz ignored them too. You are right about US doctors. This doesn't just happen in Mexico. I want to make it clear that I'm not implying this is a Mexico problem because it's not! This is a problem with a surgeon not responding to his patient with complications!

This is very disturbing to me. I guess just because a surgeon has a big reputation that doesn't mean they are ethical and take care of their patients or that they are even nice people! This is very sad. I know that complications happen. I believe that it says a lot about a surgeon in how they handle their complications. I think it's terrible that Ortiz ignored this woman. It appears that he could care less and he refuses to own up. Why can't these surgeons be stand up guys and just admit they made a mistake and fix it?! This poor lady doesn't deserve the treatment she received! Or didn't receive! Here is just one example of one lawsuit for fraud. The Federal Trade Commision no less! This one is for a few million. Well, just read it and see for yourself.
