  1. I think my tummy is rejecting the flavoring added in the water. I believe that might be why I'm feeling sick :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12
  2. Tried Brocolli cheese Soup which I had post op on liquids. I added broccoli for extra veggies. My tummy isn't liking it at all. No broccoli for a while. I'm so hating trying new foods. Always scared my body or tummy won't like it :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12
  3. Do you use MyFitnessPal - MFP? Just wondering cuz I don't think I have added you yet. Thanks for the info. Will have to try it. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  4. A bit of a bite, but bare able. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  5. That is a great attitude. At first I got frustrated cuz I wasn't having much loss. Then gained water weight cuz my body wasn't processing liquids as it should have, week 2. I had to up my liquid intake to 90oz and after a couple days I started losing again and haven't stopped. I only lose 1 lb every 2 days. I'm happy with that cuz it is just my stubborn body not wanting to let go. I am 5 weeks out of surgery and lost a total, since surgery day, 25 lbs. A week ago I hit the gym, walk the treadmill on random hills, increasing the speed by 1 or 2 each time I go there(darn near everyday hoping that would help w the loss. Im at 3.6 mph, walk at least an hour and most of the time 1hr 45mins hoping it helps w more loss. But then I remembered I'm building muscle, losing fat so needless to say my loss is still 1 lb every 2 days. Just remember if your not losing on the scale, you can be losing on your body measurements. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  6. Every one loses a different pace. I lost very little on the liquid diet. So don't worry if others are losing a lot. It just means you have a stubborn body like me that wants to hold onto what it has. Sorry if this isn't any comfort. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  7. The only pain I had was getting out of that darn hospital bed the first few times. They will most likely have you on a pain pump that will help you a lot. I basically slept surgery day away. When I went home I only had discomfort due to the gas in the me. So I didn't have to use any pain meds. I was in hospital for 3 days due to a Saturday surgery. Plus my Dr keeps at least 2 days after surgery. Pain wise after you get home, I would recommend something like a Spanx to hold tummy in cuz it help eases the pain My Spanx were heaven sent. Eased the pain A LOT. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  8. I was going to go to a restraurant last night but ended up passing it up :-( I knew in the car it would be hard deciding. Plus it was just me after the gym. I would have stopped if my daughter was w me. I've been wanting to go to a restaurant for awhile. But with my new lifestyle, couldn't. Now I'm at the point I can since i have so many more options, so I guess I just have to jump in and go. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  9. That's good protein g in it. I'll look it up. Thanx ladies :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12
  10. That is Messed up!!! Totally, if I say so myself. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  11. Jodi, I feel for you. You have been struggling to get fluids in and protein since surgery. My thought are with you :-) and you'll never be alone in this. You mentioned cake and darn that sounds good. Lol. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  12. I was on liquids 13 days post op. I stopped liquids the day before my post op appt. It didn't keep full at the end of it. Did 1 week of puréed and am on soft foods now. I am going to do 1 more week on soft then move to regular foods. That will be 2 weeks, 1week, 2 weeks. I could transition to regular diet but am nervous about it. My caloric intake on regular foods is between 800-1000. But I need to talk to my dietician. I have never ate 3 meals a day and just can't do it. My normal diet was a homemade fruit smoothie in the morn, snack (suck as almonds and yogurt for lunch), then a dinner. I've been trying 3 meals but it fills me up so much I haven't been getting liquids in :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12
  13. Good luck. You are in my prayers. I hope you get well soon. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  14. My Dr and Nut said to watch carbs too. Protein and liquids. At this point they aren't worried about calories cuz only get in 400s. Which is the norm at this stage. But caloric intake will come into play eventually. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  15. It is tough. I wasn't perfect on it. But oh well. Just do the best you can. No one asks for perfection during this stage, just a shrinking liver. Gen :-) 12/15/12
  16. Congrats Nicole :-) very happy for you. Gen :-) 12/15/12
