  1. Is Isopure considered a clear liquid for purposes of the clear liquid post op diet? I have never used Isopre. But it sounds like a way to get in protein and water at the same time. It seems to be protein water. When I called my surfeon's office and described it to them, they said it sounds okay. It has zero carbs. It is sweetened with sacral owe. On another website, I saw that one surgeon's opinion is that isopure must be diluted with 50% water in order to be drunk during the post op clear liquid diets take. What are your experiences? Is there a good reason to dilute it? All thoughts are welcome.
  2. My BMI is 34.9 - not enough for insurance to pay. So I am self-pay. I look at it as an investment in my future health.
  3. I have lost only one pound after three weeks on the liquid diet. Has anyone else experience no weight loss or little weight loss on the preop liquid diet?
  4. My surgeon recommended bypass over sleeve because of my love of carbohydrates. I am self-pay and the bypass is costing me $10,000 more than the sleeve. The surgeon said that the dumping syndrome is what trains the brain to not desire carbohydrates. I am not looking forward to dumping syndrome but I am looking forward to better health post bypass. My surgeon says that the recovery period and complication rates for the sleeve and the bypass are basically the same.
