  1. Yes. I roast them in the oven before I grind them. I love cumin and this makes it rich and warm and toasty.
  2. Chicken with sweet peppers, onion, garlic, mushrooms and chickpeas seasoned with roasted cumin and chili.
  3. I make the cauliflower crust pizza a lot. We love it.
  4. Thank you! It kinda makes up for this.
  5. I'm still super achy but slowly getting there. Tonight we are having chicken marinated in a paste of roasted garlic and caramelized onions. Ill probably roast the chicken in the oven. Then I think an avocado, onion and orange salad and roasted Brussels sprouts.
  6. I don't mean to sound judgmental at all, but how can you eat that? That would make me so sick and it's about 4 times more than I can eat. I had surgery so I wouldn't be able to eat like that anymore. I know how judgmental this sounds and I'm so sorry...but I also don't want anyone to fail.
  7. Progress pics. I'm 3 months out. Purple shirt is day of surgery. Green shirt was yesterday.
  8. DOS: 11/26/12 SW: 334 CW: 268.2 I haven't weighed this since before my 7 year old was born!!!
  9. I order mine from Swansons. They are a great price and quite often have 2 for 1 deals. Www.swansonvitamins.com
  10. I've used swallowed pills all along. My surgeon is fine with in.
  11. How about stew? Braise the beef so it's falling apart, add veggies and beef stock and voila. I make mine in the oven or the crock pot on low heat so it's falling apart.
  12. Lol it was but I love my tattoo. That foot is broken.
  13. You can get them anywhere you buy spices. I get mine at HomeGoods. I love that particular one because there's dried lemon rind in with the other herbs.
  14. Tuna melts on tomato slices. Going to have an orange in a bit since I am way short on calories today. My docs want my calories up to help keep the fainting spells down.
  15. Nope, I don't cover it. I find that cooking it for a shorter amount of time at a higher heat licks in the juices. I even do a whole roast chicken at 425 for an hour and its so tender it falls apart. I stiff the cavity with fresh thyme, a lemon cut in half and a head of garlic cut in half.
  16. That's me I broke my foot, and sprained both knees and my back. I have to go talk to my doctor about getting on meds to steady my blood pressure and I'm working on drinking a lot more. Be sure to get checked out. I could have drowned passing out the second time in the shower.
  17. I had a turkey sandwich on Boston lettuce with tomatoes and avocado. Also some carrots with hummus.
  18. I had a turkey sandwich on Boston lettuce with tomatoes and avocado. Also some carrots with hummus.
  19. I'm in SE Michigan, near Ann Arbor. My surgery was at the University of Michigan with Dr. Varban. I have friends in Menominee.
  20. I'll be three months post op tomorrow. I have never been diabetic but I've always had hypoglycemic episodes. I get lightheaded when I stand up a lot, but it passes quickly. This happened as I was walking and it just came up out if nowhere and swallowed me. I think I'm chronically dehydrated. I had three full bags of fluid in the hospital and I peed once. I'm going to have to see my doctor to talk about how to manage this. I can't be passing out like that again.
