I work in surgery as a surgical technician, I'm scheduled December 17, I'm not worried about the catheter they usually put that in when your asleep before the surgery, now the surgery I'm freaked out about, I don't get to see the results of the successful surgeries, but see the results of patients having to come back with problems, not that that happens often but it does happen. I just filled a script for Ativan for the day before and day of! I think it has a lot to do with the fear of the unknown and recovery, scared of failing, etc.
  6. Welcome, I too have a date of December 17! Had pre-op appointment today, yikes start liquid diet on December 3, do you have to do that?

  10. Anyone having blood sugar lows on liquid diet, I'm worried about this I'm on an insulin pump! I can decrease dosage but that takes time to work all the bugs out! I go on liquid for 2 weeks pre-op

  17. I too have all the " freak out" emotions you guys are having here's my problem! I work in the operating room, have assisted on countless bypass surgeries. So this should be a no brainer for me! But I'm with everything you all are saying! Some very good ideas I will be trying, thank you for the fabulous ideas, wishing all of you success and a speedy recovery!
