  3. Is there a medical reason for this or just the point of getting used to it? Black coffee sounds good right now, which would also alleviate my headache

  16. LOL. the possibilties are so exciting to me. I could be the same weight as when i was 12 years old! how do you know how much you will lose?
  17. I am going back and forth on the issue as well. for now, I only told my wife and my mom. I think i will keep it at that for now. I feel like I dont owe anybody an explanation. I have a feeling, however, that once i start to lose weight, i will probably tell more people. and especially, others that i know could benefit from it. also, i think of it like this: they are risks associated with the surgery, but the what are the risks for NOT getting the surgery? the risks of continuing the way i am outweigh those of surgery. good luck for whatever you decide.
  18. just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jason and I am just beginning the process of rout en y bypass surgery. I am 6'3" and about 297 pounds. I currently take blood pressure, gout, and zoloft meds. I also use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. i want to go through with this because heart disease is prevalent in my family. My grandfather and uncle (57 years old) bot died of cardiac arrest. My father just received quadruple bypass for his 60th bday. he also requires dialysis due to diabetes. he injects insulin. what should be my father and mothers "golden years" have turned into him being a very sick man and unable to do much of anything. this is especially sad to me because my mother has worked since she was 14 years old and finally has the $ to be able to travel and enjoy other entertainment because she is basically tethered to my father. I am hoping this surgery helps me break the cyle of illness and enjoy a longer and higher quality of life than the rest of the men in my family. my surgeon is Dr. Pelosi of UPMC St. Margarets, Pittsburgh, PA
