    Fabulous February Post-Op's

I am 2 weeks post op today. I am feeling better everyday. I still have some muscle/incision pain around my left rib. At times, it makes it difficult to get out of bed. I am on pureed food and am doing well on getting all my protein in. I return to work on Monday so my schedule will change. I find it difficult to get all of my water and protein both in. Feels like I am constantly putting something in my mouth. Timing my vitamins to keep my iron away from my calcium is also a challenge!

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Home for the first night since surgery on Valentine's Day. I have been walking, passing gas, and had two protein drinks today. Was unbelievable how my taste changed and the smell of protein powder was a bit gaggy. Tried to go off my loratab and just do tylenol, pain is still too bad.

    I hate protein shakes :-(

I agree Unjury is the best I have tried so far. I have actually tried many. Jay Robb vanilla is pretty good too.

    PreOp liquid diet help!

I am a single mom of a 9 year old. Over the last couple weeks I have cooked and froze meals for her. Then all I have to do is zap them in the microwave. I am going to freeze more meals for her to eat for after my surgery. This way I don't feel she is neglected but I don't have to stand and fix meals I am not going to be eating.

    Fabulous February!

I meet with my surgeon on Tuesday but does anyone know the answer to these questions? How soon after surgery can I drive? Will I have a drain after my laparoscopic rny? Will I wake up with a catheter?

    Fabulous February!

Sounds like he is not being supportive because of his worries that you will find someone else. You cannot base your decision on someone else's insecurity. You are the only one that knows what it is like to be in your shoes. I do understand his worries, because the statistics of divorce after weight loss surgery are fairly high. Thought about going to counseling together to help?

Who are you telling before surgery?

I have told my immediately family, four of my close friends, and two co-workers. When I first started this journey about six months ago, I was not sure I would tell anyone. Now, I decided I did not care who knows. I had some negative feedback from a family member but do not care. I have decided this is my decision, and mine alone. It is about time that I take care of myself and this is one giant leap at doing just that!

    Fabulous February!

My surery is on Valentine's Day. Will be the best present to myself, should be a sign to learn to love myself too! I am sure others can relate. I am anxious but really excited to start a new way of looking at food.

Dr. Rossi is my surgeon. Who is doing your surgery? I am always looking for people to talk to about this. Maybe we could be a support to one another. I see that you are a counselor. I am a psychiatric nurse at the VA, and am a single Mom. Carrie
