  1. Ya know what Monken??? I never even considered that because I too had a band removal, a significant amount of scar tissue and a large hernia that had engulfed my band that maybe my procedure was more extensive. I thought I was just being a whimp...thanks! And good luck with your surgery and recovery.
  2. Well, I don't work, but I can tell you that I wouldn't have wanted to for almost 3 weeks. However, there are some members on here who did go back to work after just 2 weeks. Kudos to them, I couldn't have done it.
  3. Can you be more specific as to what your looking for Monken? I'd be happy to answer any of your questions.
  4. My problem is the opposite, I haven't had a solid/hard BM since surgery. My stool is very soft...I wonder if this is bad... ??
  5. Thank you, I've been looking for something that tastes better and not like I'm consuming something diet like =D
  6. My surgery was 8/27/12. I really appreciate everyone's comments. I'm going to try and just go back to puréed foods and see what happens. There is no way I'm telling my surgeon. Heck last time I was there, the freakin receptionist, somebody who has zero business scolding me did so for like 10 min. because I ate 1/2 a saltine. The acid level my stomach was so horrible that day I had to put something in there....I was dry heaving it was so bad and my nausea meds were at home =[ she even scolded my friend who had gone with me!!! No way in telling anyone in that office what's been going on.

  8. Ok, I really didn't mean to brag there! I just consider muself very very fortunate.
  9. My insurance company covered everything but the $200- Hospital Admitting Fee, which my secondary insurance picked up....so besides the $500 program fee my Doctors office charges, my surgery was free. I'm very lucky as they paid for my lap band then paid for its removal AND the Conversion to RNY.
  10. Hello All...so I'm writing this here because there is no way I'm going to disclose this issue to my Dr. or anyone else at their office. Here goes, I can't eat. Everything I try and eat feels HUGE or for you other lap band to RNY converts..."stuck". Here's the worst part, when I feel this way....I make myself throw-up. Yes, I am purging. Right now my goal is to make it just one day without purging. Yesterday I lasted until 4 pm. Today, I've had only 4oz. Of yogurt that took me 30 or so min. to eat. It's now 1pm and so far so good. I'm thinking about going back to puréed foods and very slowly working my way toward solids...one tiny step at a time. Please feel free to discuss, chew me out, kick my behind...go, give it to me good..I so need scolding. I need to hear it all, please don't hold back. My stats: weight before lapband-289, weight before lap band had to be emptied-185. Weight prior to 8/27/12 RNY-228. Current weight for last 3 weeks-206.
  11. Yes, pretty sure baby food is fine, well at least my doc & nut said it was ok...here's the thing: have you ever eaten a baby food meat product..?? It has the nastiest consistency and taste =\ BLECH!
  12. It's exactly like Thanksgiving!
  13. Ruthie...the best puréed food I ate, and once I did, it was all I wanted...was puréed Boars Head oven-gold turkey breast, a few spoon fills of broth and acon squash sprinkled with cinnimon that had been baked in the oven! It was soooo good!!!
  14. Thank you luvlife, I appreciate the info!
  15. Ok so may our situations aren't that similar Kiwi, but you post prompted me to disclose my own issue. THANK YOU! Also, I know what I'm doing is bad, I'm going to support group but have yet to disclose my issue to either the group or my surgeon. My surgery date: Aug 27th 2012
  16. No worries Anniesmom12! I just want us all to get what we need to get through this process.
  17. I posted weeks ago that I was having a problem with restless legs, and I still do. I saw the comment about vitamins. I've not taken mine in weeks, I've had trouble tolerating them, maybe I should re-think THAT!
