  1. I had the same concern (I'm out a week). I asked my dietician today and she said that one time will not stretch out the pouch. If we stuff it consistently, then the long term outlook of losing and maintaining is at stake.
  2. Heading home!!! Doing really well - no pain meds since last night. Some pain but tolerable. So happy to be able to have runny purées at Christmas!!!
  3. Made it! Surgery went well Now just enjoying the pain on my left side... Ouch you guys weren't kidding.
  4. Well see you all on the other side!!,!!
  5. I agree I go in tomorrow too! I've never been so excited to be called a loser in my life! Lol
  6. It was hard but I did it! Tomorrow morning I will be at the hospital at 730 and am nervous but excited!
  7. Hi there, welcome to the December club- I have my surgery next Wednesday! If you go to the thread December2012 post op group you will find a lot of members who have had surgery on the same date as your wife.
  8. Snow it gets better- after about 3-4 days you don't even crave foods. It is challenging though-- don't give up, keep your eye on the prize !
  9. I'm glad you posted - I was thinking about you. Hope you have a quick recovery from here on out.
  10. Good Luck for everyone going in tomorrow - the journey to your new life begins!
  11. Me too! It's been a full 2 weeks and no cheating! My dietician threatened to cancel my surgery if I aimed weight so that was enough for me...I guess the 20 lb loss is okay too
  12. My prayers are with you - I hope everything works out. To come this far and have such a big set back is awful! Keep thinking positive!
  13. Hang in there - you're doing great! Only 2more weeks!
  14. Don't listen to them. I come from a medical family ( all of us are in healthcare) and they support me. It is a tool some people like us need to elp us lose weight. I'm sorry that she cannot support you in this. I guess you'll have to rely on these boards for support.
  15. Way to go cogburn! I'm gonna take your advice and drink more water today too - mine didn't budge from yesterday . What are you on exactly and how mich did they say you should lose on the liquid diet?
  16. Drinking more Water might help too. If you've lost that much so quick your body may just be catching up to the loss. Just think of how shrunken your liver will be already and how much easier a time your surgeon will have with doing the procedure. Hang in there...
  17. I started mine last Monday and had a stall from the beginning. I think our bodies try to hold on to weight when it's in "starvation" mode. Hang in there - I bet that it will have a big drop soon again.
  18. I did not mean to offend by that comment -but I am happy with our healthcare. As a paediatric nurse, I see many non "privileged" Kids who would have a pretty bad outcome without our healthcare system. But again, I didn't mean to offend anyone I know philosophies are different on this subject
