  1. I go for my final pre-op bloodwork testing today. Does anyone know what to expect? Is there anything that they find there that could stop or postpone my surgery? I am still so worried that something will cause this surgery to be canceled or postponed again! Thanks
  2. Thanks josee! Isn't it amazing that we live so close to each other? How are you doing? How many weeks/months post op are you?
  3. Ray is right! Kelly is one amazing woman and totally supportive of Ray! He is lucky- as am I since I'm married to her brother and he is the same. We are lucky people Ray!!
  4. That certainly stinks! Insurance companies are so frustrating. I hope that this all gets worked out and next month we will be cheering you on as you head into surgery!
  5. Good luck! Speedy recovery prayers coming your way!
  6. Yes I've gone thrift store shopping for smaller clothes- font have tons but some. That's why i thought I would be fine getting rid of a lot oft old clothes- but it's freaking me out but kinda exciting at the same time!
  7. Oh what vitamin fiasco? Do tell? My dr. The other one with Boone and Higa told me I would have 1 week clear liquid diet and then 2 weeks full liquid before I get to move to puréed foods. I'm thinking those are going to be three long weeks! But I had no liquid diet pre-op but I chose to be careful and have lost almost 9 pounds in the past week. I've bought some vitamins from bariatric advantage (figured they would be guaranteed to work with pouch) and protein stuff. I've foundy dr less then forthcoming on what to eat etc after surgery so have been using this forum and other sites to figure out what to expect.
  8. Haha I'm sooo slow!! I'm glad your surgery went well and things are moving forward. 4 days to go for me and I'm getting a little nervous but not extremely so- not yet! Love that picture of you- it's a classic!
  9. Ray!! Oh my goodness!! I just realized this is you!! How's it going? I texted Kelly when I saw you were having surgery!! How is it going for you? We really gotta go out for a date with Kelly and Nick once we both make it through this and are doing great. I can't believe I didn't catch that this was Kelky's Ray! I'm having surgery at the same place you did. Just think it was Months aho when we were talking about the possibility of both of us doing this surgery and then we go and do it about a week apart and in the same hospital. That just amazes me - haha
  10. That's way early but then you will have no waiting in the morning! I go in at 530 and thought that was bad LOL. Best of luck!! Keep us posted and prayers for a speedy recovery
  11. Oh my husband agreed to put all the clothes in the garage until surgery is over. He is like if this is what you need to do to get through this then ok! But it feels silly to need to do that.
  12. I have surgery on June 7. So in prep I'm going through my clothes and getting rid of all my clothes that I have that are one size larger than I am now (lost ten pounds so in 24 not 26 or larger)and all 24 that I've not worn in a couple months! But I'm finding this really hard to do! What if the surgery doesn't happen? What if it doesn't work? I'm so afraid something will happen at the last minute to cancel this. Am I crazy? Anyone find it hard to get rid of your clothes and accept you won't need them again? Anyone else freaking out about the surgery getting canceled? This sucks!!
  13. June 7th here! Hard to believe the day is finally almost here
  14. Good luck! I sure get what you are feeling too- my surgery is Thursday. Quick healing to both of you
  15. I will continue to work mon thru wed- but it's at work that I expect it to drag. I have an hour commute and work 10 hour days. Those days are long enough and i have too many opportuniries to dwell on things and when my mind is focused on things like the surgery it can really drag. When I get home the time goes fast I still have 4 kids at home (ages 10 - 20). My 20 year old is getting married June 22 and my ten year old turns 11 June 9. Could I have chosen a more hectic time to do this?
  16. I'm 45 and my surgery is scheduled for June 7. This week is going to drag!
  17. My surgery date is June 7- sure coming up fast but dragging at the same time! Best of luck to all of you going into surgery this week! Keep us updated on progress.
