  1. Im also 2 days post op and o had my first bowel movement after i went for a nice walk today. I also released alot of that post op gas! My Bariatric nurse said its the pain killers causing your bowels to slow down.
  2. Yeah i still have some discomfort but they tell me the more i move around the better. Also i dont let the pain meds wear off so that i can keep moving. I take 1/2 of a Vicodin and it does the job. Thanks for your support
  3. Thanx vamp. Im planning on jumping right back onmy exercise routine tomorrow slowly of course

  6. I made it through and I am grateful! This morning i ate about 3/4 of a popsicle and am full full full! No nausea or vomitting. Pain is starting to subside....i think i may be discharged this evening. I only have 6 small holes on my stomach. Most definitely easier than a c-section

  9. Thank you...i cant sleep because of the anxiety. We'll motivate each other. I'll contact u tomorrow if the hospital has wifi The bariatric center that I'm going through has you c a physical therapist that shows you all of thee neat exercises that can be done immediately after surgery. I've been doing them for the past two weeks and i dont know if I've lost any weight but people have noticed that I look more tone. The say my mid section isnt as large ...I dont own a scale because it will make me obsess a out it. Ive heard others say use a tape measure instead...r u taking pics once a week and looking at them?
  10. Are you walking? I've heard that just because you're not losing lbs doesn't mean your not losing inches. Sometimes the weight redistributes itzelf for optimal weight loss. Hang in there and dont give up! Its only been a little over 2 weeks...my surgery is tomorrow morning at 7 a.m....we can do this together ....
  11. I was very anxious up until today....now i have buttrflies! My surgery date is tomorrow March 21st! ...Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. I've told my kids its my new birthday...yay!
  12. Thanks so mu h for your input...i have to remember to take pics. You gals here are really awesome as well as inspiring
  13. Welcome Scrow! I am also new to the site. I was on Lapband Talk.com but decided after much research to go with a RNY. Oh, my surgery is April 9th. I am super excited about the surgery and this website. We can use all the support we can take! Good luck Srow! Getinmybelly so u and your hubby r having surgery onthe same day? I like that! The buddy system
  14. I know right! I've had 2 c-sections myself and I've held on to the notion that if I can do that then this should be a breeze. Have also had gallbladder and appendix removed. I certainly will let you kno as soon as I know ...
  15. Thanks hun i will! ....today I woke up very nervous
  16. I keep hearing everyone talk about the pre op diet. My dietician that works directly with my surgeon told me I didn't have to do it because my bmi wasnt past the range where thdy make u do it. Plus they said that after all of the pre op testing that I had that my liver looked really good not REAL fatty. My question is has anyone had the surgery without the pre op diet? Oh there is an exercise regiment thst I've had to adhere to for 2 weeks pre surgery. By the way I'm 5'7" and 285 lbs
  17. Hi George ... My surgery is Wednesday so I'll let you know day by day how it goes so you'll have some type of reference. Good luck to you
  18. Thanks so much for your well wishes! Will be concluding my household chores today after church. 3days! I have to be at the hospital at 5:15 a.m with surgery at 7:15. I'm glad its early in the morning. By noon I'll be starting my new life! Yipee! Now what do I take to the hospital with me? Lol!
  19. March 21st is rapidly approaching and im anxious and nervous all at the same time....Im totally prepared as far as protein and chewable vitamins. Today i purchased a new pair of pj's for the hospital. Got my hair cut in a low maintenance hairstyle, found a sustitute driver to get my kids to & from school. Completed spring clean up of the front yard now all is left to do is change the linen and rotate the mattresses on the beds. Im staying busy to keep my mind off of counting the minutes down! Lol! I pray all goes well
  20. Hi Ray Do u have a date yet? Mine is 8 days away....i like the fact yhat u r happy in your existan e because I am as well. I just dont want to have alot of ailments. I too borderline diabetic...acid reflux out the wazoo and sleep apnea....
  21. Glad to hear your first day back to work went well. Sorry to hear that you are uncompfortable with the compliments you are receiving....those are the signs that you are working hard and have committed to change to a more healthy lifestyle . A lady at the bariatric seminar that I attended as a prerequisite to surgery stated how much more friendly people are when you are less offensive to their eyes! Lol. I always hear things like "oh her face is really pretty" or "you're pretty for a big girl"....i cant wait to hear those words without some reference to my size taking away from the compliment! Do u have any b4 & after pics? My Dr. suggested taking a pic every few weeks so that you can see the changes.
  22. Thamk you so much "Losing It For You" Having someone to talk to helps...my small circle of friends have been less than supportive but only because I dont think they understand that its more about my health than vanity
  23. Thanks for your support. I dont know too much about the lapband other than my surgeon doesnt do them because of too many complications. I am really excited...10 days away as of today! I've already started exercising...I've already bought my proteins and what not. I'm having my bypass done at Toledo Hospital. They have been rated a bariatric center of excellence. My surgeon is Dr. Patrick White. I have several friends that had their surgeries done successfully by him with few complications. ....My latest dream was that I was pregnant and couldnt have the surgery! Good thing I'm abstinant! Lol!
