Oh my goodness... I am on day 3 and feel like I could eat my own arm off. I know I will get through this, but I want to eat so bad right now. I don't know how I am going to do this for 3-6 weeks.

I am on day 3 and I have to plug my nose to drink the protein...its just nasty.

I am on the pre-op diet right now. Today is day 2. Yesterday was hard, but I did it. I won't get my date until I lose 50 pounds. I am 5'11" and weigh 435. I have heard that the more you have to lose, the faster you lose it.

Hello...it would be nice to find a mentor/buddy in Arizona. I had my lap band removed on 9/27/13 due to complications and have already been approved for my sleeve surgery. My doctor wants me to lose 50 pounds becore he will do the sleeve. I started the pre-op liquid diet today. It was tough, but I made it through it.

I am hoping for the later part of November. I am all approved through insurance, just need to lose a little before my doctor will do it.

You can do this and it is not even close to taking the easy way out. I had lap band surgery in 2010 and it was extremely hard. I recently had it removed due to complications and will be having the sleeve done in the near future. This is one of the hardest things we will ever do. Try to keep strong. So I am on tge preop liquid diet on a journey to lose 50 pounds before I can get the sleeve. So far it has not been that bad. I actually feel less hungry than I thought I would. I am howeved afraid to leave my house. Without being too graphic, liquid in=liquid out. I guess its my body getting rid off the bad stuff. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it last?

Laura...thanks for the words of encouragement. I am very lucky to have this group and a very good support system at home and at work. I know it is going to be hard but is going to be worth it.

Well I went to my post-op for having my lapband removed. I was told that my liver is way too fatty to do my sleeve surgery. The doctor is making me lose 50 pounds before he will do the surgery. I was very upset when I was told this and broke down in tears. Once I settled down I met with the nutritionist and she gave me two options. 1. 1500 calories a day and it will take awhile to lose or 2. start the pre-op diet tomorrow and be on it until I am down 50 pounds. She thinks I can be down in about 4-5 weeks. I went and bought all my stuff today. I am so disappointed, but I know that my doctor is doing what is best for me.

What kind of things did you order?

I was hoping first week of November.

Went to see yhe cardiologist today. He tells me everything looks good and yhat he will clear me for surgery, but wants to do an echocardiogram. I said ok lets do it, ge says oh, not today, you will have to make an appoinyment and come back. Ok, no problem...next available appointment...Oct 24th...really???? I can't get my surgery scheduled without this clearence. I am tired of waiting. They do have me on the cancellation list, lets just pray someone cancels.
