Yes I am.. and getting nervous! I only have one more day of work then I get a 30 day leave of absence! Not sure if im going to need the whole thing.. sitting home for that long may drive me insane!

Thanks girl! I am going regardless, and I too can talk to Nina! Its just scary, but I also know that I am very healthy with no co morbidies and I am not morbidly obese. I have 50-60 pounds to lose, and I also know that thereare people from other MX tourist facilities on here that try to make other bariatric surgeons look bad. Thank you for your support

I too have chosen dr aceves and aside from this one situation I have not been able to find anything else. Did this "insider" happen to say why or how this patient went septic? I go in for my surgery on 11/4/13 and after reading your post im now a little nervous!

People tell me the same thing, that they don't think I need it! even though that's a nice thing to say, I guess I must carry my weight well (in my dreams) because I am 5'5 and 200 lbs... that's not healthy! I have gained 25 pounds in 2 years and I know it's just downhill from here, especially considering my genetics. I say to hell with all those people... we need to do what's right for us! I haven't told my mom yet... she's going to flip her lid when she finds out I'm going to Mexico. The woman has barely made it out of CA in all her 50 years lol

Im not sure why people say you dont need it for 50 or 60 pounds... I have done everything BUT surgery to lose weight... weight watchers, Jenny Craig, nutri system, personal trainer, visalus shakes. I am only 5'5 and have no co-morbites, but every woman in my family is obese to morbidly obese, and for me this is more of a preventative measure. I have no problem eating healthy, but my genetics really suck, and I'm not going to risk going down the road of all the other women in my family. Its not pretty!

I need to lose 50-60 pounds, and im winding for the people that were in the same boat, how fast did your weight come off?
