I am approved..December 5 surgery date
Got my approval this past Friday. I am more comfortable with my decision to have the sleeve. My husband is on board..one of my daughters is now coming around with this idea. I have yoyo ed so many times ..two years ago I lost 65 pounds on MEDIFASt..gained it right back. I am exhausted with trying new diets that end up not being successful..I am not required to do a pre op diet..however, I do want to lose 10 pounds before the surgery and practice to drink 64 oz of water, chew my food well, eat slow, and started an exercise program. I am excited, scared, and hopeful..After the surgery.,I have to take care of my little pouch..I know it will be challenging at times. This website has helped me so much. Thanks to all for sharing. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

Sleeve doubles in size after 1 year?
The nutritionist at the hospital gave us an hour lecture on what to expect..during weight loss, after u have completed your soft diet, you will go up to 4 oz of food during your weight Loss phase.. Then on maintenance she showed what a typical person should eat..it was 8 oz.. --one cup each meal.

Liquid diet?
I sols suggest u start changing your lifestyle to prepare u for what is to come when u actually have the surgery. I did not have to a diet before surgery..but I am eating about 1000 calories per day, chewing food slowly (nutrtionist told me to cut my food in pea size and chew well) drinking 8 glasses of Water each day, and walking 45 minutes per day etc. btw eating lots of Protein. My surgery is dec 5..I hope to lose 10 pounds in 7 weeks,. Which is doable. I also urge u to get a wonderful book suggested by a sleever on this website..it is call "The emotional first aid kit, a practical guide to life after bariactricpal surgery".. It's a wonderful resources..order it today. The author is Cynthia alexander
