Chicago Bandsters......
An august lunch sounds great. Let me know when everyone is free. I'm game to just about anywhere.

We have had good success with lunch at Panera in Oak Brook. That seems to be pretty central. Easy access and they let us sit and talk for as long as we want. Also they have pretty band friendly options.

I was in the left lane and this guy decides to make a right on red, right into my car. My front quarter panel, bumper and front passenger side rim is all messed up. ~Mandy

Hi guys. I'm alive. It's been crazy busy here for the past few weeks. I adopted a dog last week, and he needed some TCL. I'll attach a pic at the bottom of this post. I was in a car accident last week. I'm ok, but my car...not so much. I missed a day or so of work from being sore but other than that I'm good. Dave and I went shopping and I bought a scooter. It's 125cc, but we are doing some mods to make it 150cc. It can do 60mph and gets 90mpg. I love it. I spent all weekend out on it. Today was my last day of work until aug. The last day of school is tomorrow, but it's only part of a day. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself this summer, but I'm sure I will find trouble somewhere. I promise to try to be here more often. I don't get emails so I forget to check in. Here's the pup his name is Louie: and the scooter:

That's common problem post-op. The best thing you can do for it is walk. Sip on plenty of liquids, and walk as much as possible. The walking helps to move the gas out of your system. Congrats on being banded. I'm going on 3 years and LOVE my band. ~Mandy

Sherry, the doc just put me on aciphex (20 mg) and I'm already feeling better. It's an acid reducer. Maybe ask about it? Mothers day will be quiet around here. We are going to the zoo tomorrow, but sunday will just be me and Abi. I made a nice steak dinner tonight. Some tender steaks, some shrimp (boiled in beer and hot sauce), cream cheese mashed potatos, and corn. Yum. I'm full but not uncomfortable. I've had some issues with reflux myself and we all know that leads to pb issues. This medicine has helped and I've only been on it 3 days. ~Mandy

Eileen, my heart just breaks for you. I know that pain all too well from when I lost my darling kitty baby hobbes a few years ago. He had pancreatic cancer and I lost him very quickly. The pain gets better but never goes away. I still cry for him sometimes. I'll go to bed and be really tired and I long for him to curl up at my side and keep me warm and safe. We adopted another cat several months after he passed, it took me 4 tries to even be able to get all the way in the shelter. We would drive all the way there and I would just bust out in tears and come home. Remember, you have suffered a great loss, allow yourself to grieve. Keep an eye on the little one too. My daughter seemed to take it very well, and then we discovered that she was crying alone in her room when we thought she was playing. Now is a great chance to explain loss and heartache to her. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. My love to your entire family. I posted this in Feb for Signgirl, it helped us when we lost Hobbes, maybe it will comfort you too: Weep not for me though I am gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest There is no need for tears. For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, The fear now all is gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death, But Celebrate my life.
