  1. I'm in Romeoville too, if you want to get a coffee or lunch let me know. Oh and it sounds like you might have a leak, did they check to make sure all the saline was still there? ~Mandy
  2.:hurray::seeya::smile: Cheers for you Sonia.....
  3. I'm not Sonia, but we are meeting for lunch Sat the 16th. We haven't set a time or place yet. We need to do that.....what's good for everyone?
  4. I had a very bad experience with Dr. Galvani, it is all posted here. Make sure you search his name, there were a few of us that were not treated well there. There is a Panera right off I-355 and boughton road (bolingbrook), is that ok for everyone? Or is there somewhere else that would be more centrally located?
  5. HeatherLee, where are you from? We will try to make it easy for everyone to be there. Do you have a local doc for aftercare or emergencies? ~Mandy
  6. Thanks Kat. The ENT thinks this might be migraines. I had them before but not like this. He says I need to take my ct scan to the neuro and let him have a look. The sinus drainage is better, but the sinus area headaches are still bad. When I take a deep breath I have a burning sensation in my nose/ sinus. (feels like when you go from a really warm house out to a freezing day without your face covered). I'm going to see how the weekend is, and call on monday. I know my life could be worse, much worse. I do have my stuf together, I have always been the together one in the family. I think my problem is that I always had education and then family in my plans. I messed that up by getting married at 18 instead of going to collage. Then I couldn't afford to go back to school, and after getting a nasty divorce, and getting remarried I am finally getting my certification to work with kids. I wanted to be tenured by now, not just getting started. Don't get me wrong I love my family, friends, job and home. I guess I just thought I would be further, have more accomplished by now. Dave has been working tons of hours lately and that's not helping either. He did take me for coffee today, and I had a great dinner with my family tonight. We ate mongolian bbq, my fave. We go to a place called bd's mongolian bbq (bd's mongolian barbeque). I also thought I would be at goal by now. I was so close and I gained 10 pounds over the summer with the hysto, and vacation with a wide open band. I got a fill last week and I'm still not losing, I must workout, and with the sinus crap I just don't feel like it right now. Abigale is also being moved into a full time special Ed class. That is a blessing but she is sooooo upset about leaving her teacher and friends. Why didn't the school just listen to me at the beginning of the year???? Now we have to transition her from one room to another, what a PITA. I know things will get better. I am working on smiling more and stressing less. I also make an effort to take at least one long (45min) soaking bath each week. I'm also joining a book club. I love to read and have gotten away from it. Dave is insisting that I take some time for me, and that I try to rest more if at all possible. I've gone on long enough. I'll check in later, Mandy
  7. I started a new thread. This one was getting out of control long. Here is the new link... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f34/chicago-bandsters-51810/#post717456
  8. The old thread was getting way to long so I'm starting a new one. ~Mandy
  9. Well girls I'm glad this week is over. It was a long week with loads of dr appt. and test but it all over, at least for now. My allergy test was clear, which is great. My ctscan is also clear, great, but that leaves us still lost on what is causing the congestion and sinus pain. I have to see a Neuro next. I'll call for an appt on monday. Today is my birthday, it was a nice quite day, just what I wanted. I turned 30 today. Did anyone else have a hard time when they turned 30? This has been a hard milestone to hit for me. Oh well. I'm off to bed. I had a strong mixed drink with dinner and it's hitting me kinda hard. ~Mandy
  10. We are still doing lunch on the 16th, anyone besides me and Sonia going?
  11. Betty, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost an uncle recently and it is hard. Pat, I do the same thing. I sleep with my cell phone too. My hubby works on call, so Abi and I are alone most nights. We are used to it now. ~Mandy
  12. Hey guys just jumping on for a quick second. Pat, thanks for the compliment. Just think how I would look with the massive amount of skin removed. (I tuck it into my pants right now) I could do without the breast lift.....Hubby says the girls still look really good. We went bowling with some people from a bike group that we belong to, and had a blast last night. It was nice to have some adult interaction. Abi went the the doctor yesterday and she has a sinus infection. We are back at the ENT tomorrow. I went for my allergy test today, good news is, no allergy. Bad news is I still have sinus issues with no real cause. I go for the cat-scan tomorrow. It was supposed to be today, but they had to postpone, the tech was sick today. I see the doc tomorrow, so we will see what he says. We got a ton of snow Sunday night, about 6 in. in a matter of a few hours. I shoveled the driveway, steps and walkway, and I didn't get winded at all. Talk about a huge NSV. We are expecting more snow again tonight....ugh! My neighbor is a real estate agent, we were out shoveling at the same time Sunday, and I told her that she had to sell me on staying here in this frozen hell. She just laughed at me, she says we have to stay cuz we are such good neighbors. She's the best. I also have big news. I ran for the board of directors in my subdivision, and last night I was elected onto the board. It will be a ton of work but worth it, I really do love my community. I'm off to bed. I'll check in later. ~Mandy
  13. Panera, we meet at a central location depending on who is going to go. ~Mandy
  14. i too look much worse than you did Pat. I'm looking into surgery, but it will be a long way off. $$$ is my big issue. I don't think insurance will pay for it, and I don't have the money for it right now. ~Mandy
  15. We have no school today, due to the cold. It was 0 last night with 50 mph winds. Now it's 3 with 15-30 mph winds expected all day. So today I work around the house. I was able to sleep in today, and I'm still tired. Maybe a nap today too. Pat, I'm glad you are feeling better, now where are those pictures? ~Mandy
  16. Sounds good...see ya then. Hey guys anyone else coming? ~Mandy
  17. Kat, they are going to cauterize (sp?) in her sinuses. It too far in to do in the office, so it has to be done while she is out. ~Mandy
  18. I hate to admit this, but I have tickets to the Hannah Montana movie on the 2nd. I'm taking Abi, it was one of her Christmas presents. I couldn't get concert tickets so I bought the 3-d movie tickets. We have a 2:30 show time. Maybe sunday the 3rd? ~Mandy
  19. Hi guys, it was a LOOOOONG weekend around my house. Friday started with a really bad bloody nose for my little pincess Abi. We had to make an emergency trip to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. He did the chemical cautry (sp?) and it has stopped for the moment. I can still smell blood on her breath, so I'm concerned that she is still bleeding and it's going down her throat. If friday's treatment doesn't fix the problem then she is going to have to have surgery again. So far no bleeding, but we have to be really careful. Then a funeral on Sat, we missed the wake on friday due to the medical stuff. My uncle passed, he was 74. He was always smiling and laughing. I am very close to his daughters so I spent a lot of time at their house growing up. I am sad, but at the same time relieved, he had cancer and is no longer in pain, or sick. He is in heaven now. I am still having some sinus problems, but hope is on the horizon. I'm having a catscan and allergy test next tuesday. The doctor thinks it's a polyp and will need to be removed, minor surgery. I'm not all that concerned, seems easy enough to fix and I will finally feel better. I think the surgery and recovery will be easier than being sick all the time. I have had the pleasure of meeting Crispy and Sherry, they are both great. We had a great time at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Sherry screams like a girl on roller coasters. LOL, love ya sweetie. I'm off to work today, fun fun fun. I'll check in later. ~Mandy
  20. I am from the chicagoland area. I didn't know the missing girl personally but I work with some of her friends. They found a body of a young woman tonight, it may be her, we will know more tomorrow after testing is complete. ~Mandy
  21. Welcome, most of us aren't even from Jersey. I'm from Chicago, but hang out here. Some of the best people on lapbandtalk.com are here. ~Mandy
  22. My birthday is feb 8th. So either the 2nd or the the 16th. ~Mandy
  23. Amelia, yes the realize is different from the AP. I don't know how it's different but it is. For one it's made by johnson and johnson not inamed. How's the insurance fight going? Keep us updated. Sonia, keep calling them, they will have a great employee in you. Were they gone for the holidays? I know my classes just started last week, so maybe they meant after the holidays, as in holiday break? Wanna do lunch soon? ~Mandy
  24. Diane, I do hiccup more now, that seems to be permanent. To me that is one sign to stop eating. When I hiccup my hubby tells me that dinner is done. If I keep eating I PB. The gas is from all the protein, that should get better, it does for most. I can eat 1/2 cup mashed potatos, a rotissere chicken leg and a few bites of veggies. If you have a Boston Market near you, the kids meal is the perfect size for me. I can eat a 5 piece nugget from Wendy's and some of a baked potato. Hope that helps. I can exercise without my port area hurting....now ask me if I do....nope. I should but I don't. And my hair, I lost a bunch of hair, but it all came back. I cut it short and it looked cute, and it saved my drains. ~Mandy
