  3. I'm here and Betty you can't send out the monkeys cuz I have them here. :huh2: I had an MRI last night on my knee. The tech told me there is zero cartlidge left. I am walking bone on bone. I need either a miniscus replacement or a partial knee replacement. I also have some lab work on friday. They are checking me for cushings disease. Anyone remember vinesqueen? That's what she had. I did manage some pictures on my bike last weekend. Here they are: ~Mandy
  4. anybody? Lunch? ~Mandy
  5. We have a group that meets for lunch about once a month. We are in the Chicago friends thread. Last time we had lunch at the Promanade. I'm in Romeoville. ~Mandy

  7. Anybody for a lunch gathering? Sonia, I went to goRoma last night for the big fundraiser, and it was tuesday....D'OH. Sorry hon. I'll try to make the next one. When is that again?
  8. Morning all, Abi is great since surgery. She is all healed and back to running around and wearing me out. My niece is still here. She is now officially living with us. She spends most of her time working or hanging out with her boyfriend, but she is happy here. I've been having issues with my sugar dropping really really low (in the 40's and 50's). My gp is consulting with my band doctor. I'm worried what they are going to tell me. I wake up and it's in the 110-120 range and within a few hours it's in the 50's. I had a ton of bloodwork drawn monday and the results will be back today. Say a prayer for me please. have been sooooo tired that I've worked and slept. I hope that todays results give me some relief. I just bought all the gear I need for my motocycle, helmet, leather jacket and riding gloves and now I'm too tired to ride. Go figure. I will post and let you guys know what I findout today. ~Mandy
  9. I know, and the weather here in Chicago is NOT saying spring at all. We had snow last week....ugh is it ever going to warm up?
  10. Happy April all!!! Here's the new thread http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f51/nj-april-2008-a-57083/#post781294
  11. Happy April fools day all. I'll post a link to this thread in the March thread so everyone knows it's here. ~Mandy
  12. We need to get together soon. I'm free for the next few sat's early. Motorcycle weather starts really soon. ~Mandy
  13. hi girls. I've been gone forever. I'm back and I'll return the flying monkeys. It's been a crazy couple of weeks around here. All is fine. I'll catch up sometime this week. I just wanted to check in and say hi!
  14. I'm free just about anytime in april. Let me know the plan. ~Mandy
  15. I'm open to new ideas. make sure I get some flyers for the fundrasier. I will pass them out at school. My principle is a breast cancer survivor and will be glad to let me give them to all the teachers. ~Mandy
  16. Kat, hugs to you. I hope you are happily doped up right now. Stay that way for at least 48 hours. I'll check back in later. ~Mandy
  17. Pat, she cannot blow her nose for 14 days from surgery. But she could wipe it, or at least let me wipe it. She knows how to blow her nose but with her other problems she would rather wipe it on her sleeve or suck it back in. Stopping to blow it takes too much time and energy. It's a wonder I have not locked her in a room and ran away from home yet. Kat, good luck tomorrow. We are all saying prayers for you. Let us know how it goes. Night all, Mandy
  18. Kat, the package came while we were out, and she was sooo excited to get it when we came home. She is already working in the workbook. Everything was perfect. She told my mom that one of mommies band friends sent her a feel better box. Thanks again. She is starting to have a bit of a drippy nose and it's driving me nutz. She refuses to wipe it, she just keeps sucking it back in.....argh!!! Well we are going to attempt school tomorrow, with some limitations. ~Mandy
  19. That's great, let me know and I will pass out flyers too. I have a ton of friends that love to eat there. I will also hand out flyers at the door.
  20. I'm off to have lunch with my regular local band group. I'll check in later tonight. Abi is doing great. She hasn't taken a single dose of pain meds since we left the hospital. She had a dose in the recovery room, and then nothing else, not even tylenol. Have a great sat everyone. ~Mandy
  21. I don't have to tell you are the wacky coaster lady, she remembers you. She thinks you came all the way to Disney to meet her, and that made a huge impression on her. She asked if you girls are going to be there again this sept. LOL. ~Mandy
  22. We are home from the hospital. Abi did great this time. She woke up smiling and asking for juice and a cookie. She is watching tv as I type. I bought a roasted chicken for dinner and she says she is starving. The doctor said it's a good thing we went ahead with the surgery. He almost canceled today due to the lack of nosebleeds. Then he said that when he was in there it was kinda bad, like ticking time bomb bad. So now it's all fixed and she seems to be doing great. ~Mandy
  23. Pat I had to drink a liquid lax, sodium something or other. It cleans you out completly. The process was simple, I was in, out and home within a few hours. Then it's soft foods for a day or so. Easy peasy. Kat, thanks for the tracking number. I will let you know as soon as it arrives. ~Mandy
  24. Pat, I had the colonoscopy (sp?) a few years ago. Same deal blood in the stool. I had a polyop, it was removed during the test and I've not had another problem. I am due for another colonoscopy again next year, it's every 5 years after you've had a problem. Not a big deal, they give you versaid and it's all a fog. I don't even remember the ride home. I do remember the horrible gas, no pain but it was LOUD. Dave still gives me a hard time about it. Kat, thanks again for thinking of Abi. I'm sure that it will make her day. I went to the doctor last night. He thinks my sinus pain is from swollen nerves. There is a cluster of nerves that starts by the ear and branches above the eyebrows, across the sinus area and down jaw line. My sinus area is very very inflamed. He gave me something for nerve pain and said that if it helps we will know that is the problem. If that's the issue then I was have to have steroid injections in my face. He also gave me a nasal spray for the post-nasal drip. He wants me to call him on friday, and we will go from there. Tomorrow is Abi's surgery, I will check in again tonight. ~Mandy
