  1. Unfortunatly they are replacing Merideth (sp?) with Rosie O'Donell and I don't like her either. It would be nice if they kept, Joy , Babs, and the cute blonde that is on there. I think the 3 of them are great. I would also like to see Joy (Regis Philbins wife) on there, she is great. Or have a special guest host each week. I just don't care for Rosie or Star. ~Mandy
  2. SHe announced today that she would not return for the fall season. She was told in March or April that her contract would not be renewed. They said that people didn't trust her anymore. After the way she did with the wedding and the non-discussed weightloss. There was "different feeling" at the table. Here is the yahoo story link http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060628/ap_on_en_tv/tv_the_view_reynolds What do you all think? I know she has been a hot topic here before and thought I would see what the opinion was here. ~Mandy
  3. I just posted my old sectional sofa on there. I have been a member for a while now and have had great results with both giving and recieving until now. I had 4 no show no calls for the sofa. I was getting ready to toss it in the trash when the 5th on the list finally showed up 4 hours late and didn't even say sorry for being late. We just moved to a new area and the people around here are just more lax about being ontime and having manners I guess. I was told that no shows are about 50/50. That kinda sucks but it is a great way to declutter. I am having a garage sale next weekend and whatever doesn't sell is going to be listed on freecycle. ~Mandy
  4. I am in Chicago now, but my family lives at Jax beach Alantic Beach and in Orange Park. I miss it soooo much, and I hate the winters here. My DH works for the railroad and we can't move back there until he retires. We do make it to Orlando twice a year, close enough I guess. I lived in San Pueblo apartments when I was a kid are they even still there? God, I miss the beach. ~Mandy
  5. Gatorade and lots of it. A great way to get liquids and feel better is to make jello and drink it warm, it will sooth a sour stomach and keep you hydrated. ~Mandy
  6. She is just lovely, do me a favor? Next time you see her, give her a nice soft kiss on one of those sweet cheeks and as you are doing it take a nice deep breath. That is a perfect moment and I think everyone should experience it at least once. ~Mandy
  7. I have a small micro blender I bought at wal-mart for around $13. This year it comes in fun colors and they also have a smoothie maker in the line, around $19 I think. My blender is the kind that you can drink out of the container, it came with a lid with a sipper spout and also a lid that covers completly so you can pop it in the fridge. It is by Home Essensials? I think. ~Mandy
  8. I lost my gallbladder about 6 months post banding. I had problems with it for years and the doctors kept saying I didn't have any gallstones. I didn't have stones I had an almost non functioning gallbladder. Instead of traditional attacks I had pain and a feeling like a balloon being inflated under my ribs. A HIDA scan finally gave a proper diagnosis. It was removed and I have had no more pain or problems.~Mandy
  9. My best friend had GBP almost 5 years ago, he lost really well in the begining and now, nothing, he struggles to just maintain. It is also common to stretch the pouch, and they also adjust to the malabsorption and gain weight. It is really difficult to lose after those first 18-24 months. SO Carnie is all on her own will power with those baby pounds. ~Mandy
  10. Also after 18 to 24 months the body starts to compensate for the reduced calorie absorption. The body starts absorbing calories in other parts of the intestines I believe that is how it works anyway. They refer to the first 18-24 months as the window of opportunity. ~Mandy
  11. It is possible but there are only a few doctors that will do it. I know of one in NY and one in CA. My friend looked into it and his insurance won't cover it. I think 40 pounds is normal gain for a full term pregnancy, right? I gained a lot more than that. I am sure she will lose it again, she has done very well even after her 2 year window with the GBP was closed, she was losing weight. ~Mandy
  12. I have big kitties, like over 20 pound kitties. They put Bella in her place, fast. She hasn't given up yet and I don't think she ever will. The biggest guy (my cat) let her sniff him and she wanted to give him kisses, he wanted none of that. The other cat (the one that allows me to remain in the house) hates the thought of Bella even existing. I think they will learn to share the house but I don't think they will ever be friends. ~Mandy
  13. She is aware of the band, I saw her on Trya Banks a fews weeks ago and I think she looks great. She is also a host of top 100 celebrity slimdowns, it is a cool 3 hour countdown show and she discusses weightloss surgery a few times. She is working with a personal trainer and she claims to be making progress. I hope she does well, I think she has really paved major roads for WLS patients. ~Mandy
  14. I have the 2 pack of cd's that we gave out as a wedding favor, if you PM me your address I will gladly send you a copy. It's everything from Rob Zombie to Jimmy Buffet. ~Mandy
  15. The song that was a remix by Nat King Cole and his daughter. I can't remember her name or the name of the song but I know that is was popular at my wedding. Also don't forget Crazy by Patsy Cline..~Mandy
  16. One of my favorite things to do is go downtown (Chicago) and walk or ride my bike down Michigan Ave (the big main drag for shopping and such). When all the stores are closed and the windows are dimmed, I love to get on the median and look up, buildings in every direction. It really puts things into prespective. Makes me feel small, and the world seems so big. I am from a small town down south and I guess I just never get used to the hugeness of the city around me. ~Mandy
  17. I'm in Illinois, just west of Chicago. I totally love the laundry being upstairs, that was a major selling point for me. I will take more pictures in the next week or so as I get painting and decorating finished. ~Mandy
  18. C'est La Vie by Bob Seger White Wedding by Billy Idol (I love him) Love in an Elevator by Areosmith and we just saw cars and Rascal Flats just redid Life is a Highway and it was GREAT!!!! Here is a sample of it [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EUMPBS/qid=1150933149/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/002-1071033-9552855?s=music&v=glance&n=5174#moreAboutThisProduct]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EUMPBS/qid=1150933149/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/002-1071033-9552855?s=music&v=glance&n=5174#moreAboutThisProduct[/ame] ~Mandy
  19. I think I need directions to a better Sam's club, I think I moved too far from the city, the manager said this was the best he had to offer. He also said if I think these guys are bad, I should see the morning crew, ~Mandy
  20. And here is his partner...
  21. I just back from Sam's club and I guess the super hunks are on vacation cuz all I found was this guy.....
  22. A special place in the cosmos huh? Not sure about that but I think there is a padded room with my name on it somewhere. ~Mandy
  23. Ok, here is my lucky dog story of the day. I did the poop in the hole thing and she is no longer digging. She is however still trying to eat my kitties. They of course want nothing to do with her, they think she is the devil. Her newest trick is to throw her toys over her head and then go and get them, she is playing fetch with herself. It is a riot to watch. She also skins tennis balls, and then plays with the fuzzy skin not the ball, also a riot to watch. I have to invest in a video recorder, I could win $10,000 with Bella and her antics. ~Mandy
  24. I sm sooooo much less hungary when I am doing low carb. I was told that eating carbs makes you want more carbs, hungry or not. Not sure how true that is, but I know that when I have carbs, I get all crazy for more carbs. ~Mandy
  25. I make mashed cauliflower, just steam it until soft and then blend with a bit of butter and milk or cream. I also add garlic and parmesan cheese. You can do them loaded with sour cream, cheese, and bacon bits. They are a great low carb high fiber sub for mashed potatos. I have also made them and then put them in the taoster oven for that twice baked texture. ~Mandy
