  3. I didn't know they existed. I thought Protein shakes were a meal replacement; not sure how the pills achieve that emotionally.

  6. During the first few weeks after surgery I used to barely make it from the bedroom to the kitchen without having to sit down as I felt 'wonky'. I think it was my body going into some sort of protest stall lol Anyhow, I decided to push my limits and walked a little further each day until I felt normal. I also got myself a personal trainer who got me using weights. That pushed my body into feasting on fat rather than than turning my energy off and stalling.

  8. I mix my protein mix in skim milk and add 1/2cup plain yoghurt. Helps to smooth out the sweet taste. Good luck with your search, protein mix is such a staple for us. I also select a protein mix that is very low in sugar and carbs.

  11. I understand the fear of failure given I have lost weight many times and regained it. I am doing a few things different this time - I have very limited capacity in how much I can eat, I no longer have the rampant ongoing appetite, I too am working with a personal trainer to help the body adjust, and I have organized a few sessions with a Psychologist who has helped me through many life/health crisis's (spelling??). I'm also trying to stay more 'here and now' focused instead of loosing myself in future land. I'm not interested in giving myself a hard time about my previous failures - life is far too short. Good luck with your journey and I can only encourage you to focus on the positive.
  12. I drink hot tea several times a day with hi/low milk and 1/4 spoon honey or sugar. I guess when summer arrives I will be drinking less hot drinks more water or non-sugar cordial. I enjoy my tea and occasional coffee - it is also a social drink. I can barely eat with my friends so being able to meet up for coffee helps keep life normal. The only thing I have agreed to never drink again is carbonated drinks. You might want to add a name to your profile
