If you still struggle afterwards, why do it?
For me, it doesn't feel like "white knuckling" anymore...anytime I used to diet, I felt hungry all the time, and it was perpetually frustrating. Now, when I'm hungry, I eat! And since it's only a small amount of food, my total food intake for the day stays very low. But when I eat, it feels extremely satisfying, even though it's much less food than I used to eat per meal. So for me, the biggest difference is that this doesn't feel like "white knuckling" anymore.

small non-scale victory!
How wonderful!! Isn't it great when you realize you can fit into clothes that were previously too tight?

Having a hard time passing this gas.. Please help
Some of the CO2 gas will have to diffuse through your bloodstream. The only way to help speed this up is to walk a good deal as often as you possibly can. The gas will use the laws of physics and travel upwards towards your shoulders.

taking pills after surgery
My doc's rule is that if the pill is the size of an "M&M" or smaller, it's ok to take. If not, I break it in half unless it's a delayed-release, in which case I switched to a different form so I could get it down.

Pain peak
The narcotics made me "itchy" and I didn't feel like scratching all the time so I tried to get off that stuff fast.

Home from vsg i dont know how to eat (day 4)
I found Premier Protein shakes to be reasonably tasty, and it's 30g protein per 11oz of fluid, so you really get a ton of protein fast that way. Maybe it will agree with you too.

Home from vsg i dont know how to eat (day 4)
You're starting soft foods already? That's fast for your first week. Chicken, fish, beans, etc all have good protein. Or try a Primeir protein shake...30g right there

Something interesting about all the profile pics
Ok, consider it done.

What was /is your motivation for having surgery!
I don't think I have a va jay jay, but for me it was diabetes, hypertension, liver failure, kidney failure...etc. Just tons and tons of health problems.

Embarassing Moment during Pre-Op diet
Like they say, never trust a fart for any reason. Assume anything even remotely suspicious is "DEFCON 1" and the clock is ticking.

Something interesting about all the profile pics
I guess they don't teach this at "fat guy" school. I missed out

Something interesting about all the profile pics
I don't disagree with this. Almost every girl I've ever dated was at least as large as, if not larger than me.

sex...and hair
Maybe he could pull/slap/smack something other than hair? I'm sure it's totally hot...just saying...

Strange Throat Feeling?
For me, if I over-eat even slightly, I get this to at least some degree. If I over-eat too much, I start getting a mysterious white foamy substance coming out of my mouth. And if I REALLY overdo it, then I just puke for a while.

Nutritionist Visit FREAKED me out :-(
I would strongly discourage you from drinking anything within about 5 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal. Why? On Tuesday, at work, I accidentally forgot that rule, and drank some Water with my lunch. Then I had to run to the bathroom and vomit for about an hour afterwards because the water just tossed the food out of the sleeve. It's a hard habit to break, but as long as you sip slowly all day, you can stay hydrated. Just stay focused.

Something interesting about all the profile pics
So I don't think there's anything wrong with this, but I can't help but notice that the profile pics for almost everyone (especially the ladies on here) make everyone look like they are about 21 years old and not a single pound overweight. Even people that haven't had any surgery or lost any weight, the pic of their smiling face appears to be that of a 21 year old who is not overweight in the slightest. Do people just post pics that are from before they gained weight? Pics from when they were 21? Or are some people finding the "perfect angle" that makes you look really thin? How does one do this? Maybe I want to make a "glamor shot" picture so I can also be a sexy 21 year old woman. How can I accomplish this?

does anyone know if they drug test before surgery?
Usually also creatine because that's a good indicator if your urine is diluted. Many of those "detox" pills have creatine.

does anyone know if they drug test before surgery?
Actually, all the Water they tell you to drink dilutes your urine. Those "cleanse" things just try to mask the fact that you drank all the water.

Starting solid foods
That's an awesome idea! I'll have to give it a try--I keep over-guessing how much is the correct amount and then I feel lousy (or worse-it comes back up.)

Chewing Gum during Liquid Diet?
Like some, I was told to never chew gum again because they were worried it would get "stuck." That being said, I cheated and chewed gum anyways, being SUPER careful not to swallow it. Now that I'm allowed to eat "real" food, it doesn't seem to bother me at all and I just don't chew gum.

Starting solid foods
Chew a whole lot. Then just try small amounts and see how it goes. Some food agrees with me more than others. I actually found it harder to get pureed foods down vs. soft foods.

Ramen noodles without the noodles?
The broth they gave me after surgery was more salty than ramen. It went down fine. I've never had issues with excess sodium, so perhaps I'm not the right person to answer this question.

Post op day 1 question
Also, I found it extremely helpful to walk as often/possible as my doctor allowed. The walking seemed to speed up the healing process.
