    February 2019 weight loss buds

Sheri you are not a failure! I think you might be going the wrong direction with your calories. With so much exercise you might need to raise them. Your body could be “death gripping” every ounce for survival. Of course it could just be a regular stall with your body adjusting. If that’s the case I really don’t think there’s anything we can do that really “breaks” a real stall. I reluctantly looked back and I have “only” lost 5 lbs this month, which is down from over 12lbs a month. I’m crossing my fingers to make up a few of those lbs in the days left of May or a least make it up a bit in June. I think it’s just the natural order of things...I sure hope it is anyway.

    Air Fryer

I bought a big one at Sams, cooked a whole chicken in it and it was fabulous!

Congrats on breaking that stall! Today I hit my mini goal of 189lbs! Yay!! I have not been sticking strictly to plan, bites here and there of things I don’t normally eat, not drinking enough, eating too many calories in nuts and eating too much in general. Today I’m committing to getting in 100oz of water and cleaning up my eating. Getting back to serious business!!

I think that’s true for some. I also think there are lots of other reasons. Some gain due to medications they have to take, other medical reasons or like me, my sleeve was not done properly to start with so my tool subpar from the start. I hope all of us are successful with whichever surgery we have 😊

Congrats Everything!!! Brag away!! Well I was a gambler prior to surgery and I’m still a gambler now. It’s been a small issue, hopefully it doesn’t grow to a bigger issue.

Transforming, I don’t thing most Feb surgeries have lost 70lbs. I’m a revision from sleeve to rny, 2/12/19, and I’ve lost 40lbs since surgery, 50 including the preop diet. I lost 28lbs in the 6 months leading up to the preop diet though.

Gotta, I don’t normally feel starving like that. I usually just get hungry at meal times and I get “head hunger” at night, but this is different. I normally keep my carbs in the 20g range. Maybe it’s an adjustment thing and it would be better in a day or 2. Idk, but I don’t like it, lol.

Uggg, I decided to try an experiment by upping carbs and calories a bit since I’ve been keeping everything very low. I’m a bit nervous that if I keep everything this low I’ll have no room to drop further if weight loss stops. So I had 1/4 c of oatmeal (no sugar) and 1/2 sf Greek yogurt for breakfast. For lunch I had tuna and 1/4 c of Mexican corn and I swear I have felt like I’m staving. I don’t usually snack between meals, so this feeling is unusual for me. I already had cheese/almond/craisen snack thing, 9 carbs, but dabs I feel like I’m shaky and starving already. Clearly I can’t handle 10 carbs at a time I guess....

Gaby, I’m honestly not sure how to deal with transfer addiction, except I hear learning to meditate can help with dealing with our emotions.

Gaby, what transfer addiction are you experiencing?

Mishu I am a revision from sleeve to rny and am constantly questioning what is the best path to insure success. I just can’t help feeling like we need to keep calories/carbs very low to be successful after failing one surgery already. It’s scary for sure.

Yes, it can certainly be the candy. Those things can cause gastric distress in a regular stomach.

Sheri- maybe it will happen very soon. I’ve said before, my weight loss has a pattern. I lose between 2-4 lbs over 2-3 days, then the next few days I’ll bounce up, come back to my low and then lose again 2-3 days. Even though I know this, I often have to look back at my history to see when the scale dropped last because it can feel like weeks even though it usually only been 5 or 6 days.

My information says we’re good after 3 months for raw veggies. I’ve been doing green smoothies with berries for a while now a few times a week with no ill effects. I’m careful to measure 1/4 cup of them because carbs in a smoothie can add up quick.
  15. You’ve been through a lot, but you’ve made fabulous progress! Congratulations

    Anyone had full bypass surgery??

I believe you will be approved with those issues. Mine showed irritation, but not Barretts, I was approved in a few days, Blue Shield. I’m still doing great, averaging 3lbs a week. Of course I’d love bigger losses, but I’m constant with 3lbs a week and happy with that. I’m still very careful. That fear of failure is strong. I just felt so hopeful when I had my sleeve and so disappointed I never got to goal, not even close. I still had 25lbs to go, gained 20lbs, lost 19lbs and the gaining started again. Part of it was that my sleeve was made too large and I never had “easy” weight loss, my tool was broken. I had to fight for every pound lost just like before surgery, but I also reached a point where I gave up (just like all the diets I’d done prior to surgery), so I’ve learned from that. Now I have a tool that works and I’m making damn sure I use it correctly.
  17. I had sleeve 10/2013, lost 60lbs, gained it back, had some reflux but not terrible. Was revised to rny 2/12/19, SW 230, CW 190, no complications, no food intolerances that I know of (haven’t had any sugar, pasta, bread or rice). So far so good.

It’s interesting, I see/read people saying eating too much hurts but I haven’t really experienced that. I just kind of lose interest and stop eating or just eat my measured portion and I’m done. I’m not convinced my pouch would stop me from overeating. I guess it’s possible that I haven’t pushed the limits far enough to hurt, but on occasion I have eaten more than I think I should be able to eat, so I don’t really know. I have just reverted to weighing/measuring and trying to be conscious of when I’m satisfied and stopping there. The only time I’ve had pain was from not chewing well enough and maybe eating too fast.

Sheri you are doing great! I weighed in this morning at 191 even, so 1.1lb to get into the 180s!!

Yes, the portions look crazy big. Even when I weigh out 2oz of a shredded meat it looks like a huge portion to me now. I was just telling my husband, it seems like I eat less food now than I did 2 weeks ago. I’m almost 3 months out but am getting fuller now on less food.

Well I’m in the club too, the scale finally moved for me today as well, down 1.4 lbs also, 191.9! 2 more lbs to get into the 180’s, lol

Oh, and the BA probiotics are great, like a grape sweet tart. I didn’t care for the Barimelts probiotic, had an odd taste

Vitamins- I like the Bariatric Fusion chews and the Barimelts for the multi. I haven’t tried Bariatric Advantage chews in the multi, but love the calcium chews from them.

Froufrou I would agree that the blood is from your esophagus, but I hope he can explain the issue to you. I’m apparently in a stall. I had my 3 week stall early, so I guess I’m having the 3 month stall a bit early as well. I’m sure hoping it’s a stall anyway. Of course the fear is that I’m done losing and will be stuck at 193lbs

Sheri- we are very close to the same spot, my next goal is 189lbs by May 15th and I lost 12.1 in April, so we’re very close there too. So far my hair is not falling out, crossing my fingers!
