  1. JodiAnn, my surgery is one week away and I'm having those same feelings on and off. I have been on pre-surgery diet for a week now and lost 6 lbs. so I feel I wish I could just do it on my own. Then I come back to reality and realize how many times I did it on my own and lost and gained weight back. I know at times I can do it on my own, but if I go to a restaurant I love, or an amusement park, or get stressed out I will fail. I Know I need this tool to help me; and as scary as it it, I know it will be ok. We can do this!!
  2. My surgery is Sept. 4th!! Yikes!! Nervous, but excited! Started my pre op diet a week ago and lost 6 lbs. One more week!! Had headaches for the first 3 days, but none since, actually less than usual. I wish I could eat like this rather than have surgery, but I know I can't long term. Definitely realizing what triggers my eating while on this diet, which is good I wish you all the best!
  3. Thank you Bfatfree!! How exciting Nikki!! It is so close, it's crazy!!
  4. Hello I just joined this support group. I have been reading the forums for a couple of months now and have appreciated all the info, so I figured I should join, so I can encourage others too! My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 4. I am super excited and also nervous. More excited than nervous though I start my pre surgery diet in 2 days. I wasn't overweight all my life, but it was a struggle to stay close to my goal weight. As I got older it got worse. I have high cholesterol and blood pressure and was recently diagnosed with Rhematoid Arthritis. I jut graduated as an RN in May and will be starting a new job 3 weeks after surgery, so hopefully all goes well.

I got so much great information on here and want to be able to encourage others too:) I am scheduled for my surgery on Sept. 4th. I am super excited but also nervous. I am more excited than nervous though I'm 47, have 4 kids, ages 10-25, and I'm happily married. I just graduated as an RN in May, and start work 3 weeks after my surgery, so hopefully all will go well:)
