  1. When you stand up do you have pain in your pelvic region?
  2. Surgery 8/12 started a week early on 8/14. Lasted normal, maybe slightly heavier. I am blessed that I had a D&C with eblation two and a half years ago, life changing.
  3. Thanks everybody! I am learning that I do have some physical limitations, to be expected with such extreme caloric restrictions, but I am determined to make this work!
  4. I found gasX extra strength works awesome for me, has definitely help lower the pressure in my intestines and made restroom use easier too.

  6. Sleeved 8/12 down 8.6lbs. Moved to full liquid today. Had some minor complications post op but doing better every day.
  7. You need to get something that doesn't have sugar or alcohol. Try a diabetic approved cold medicine.
  8. I am 7 days post op. had to start taking GasX day 5. It really helped. I've had liquid stools every day too, but with a liquid diet I expected as much. Dr. Says to just try and get as many fluids in as possible to avoid dehydration.
  9. Had a similar headache, turns out I was allergic to morphine.
  10. I got 4 days off, worked one, then took the weekend off and am back tomorrow... I work 2 jobs and am taking one more week for the second job. (Sleeved 8/12). I work (job 1) at a local high school and can sit a lot.
  11. My Dr recommended Gas-X. They are really small and helped tremendously! I started them day 5. I take 2 a day, but you can take up to 4.
  12. Sleeved 8/12. I'm a Special education teaching assistant at the high school level. I'm also a mom to an 18, 15, 10, and 8 year old...and a wife. From Wyoming. ;o)
  13. I had my surgery on Monday Sept. 12, 2013. I had a few complications that had nothing to do with the sleeve and everything to do with my body being a jerk! Lol! I am supper sensitive to anesthesia, and my body thought it wasn't really necessary to breathe when it was in my system. Umm, I beg to differ, lol! Came out with an O2 mask, then a different one, then a cannula. I also found out that I am allergic to morphine. NOT the time to find that out! It caused an instant headache and I heaved really hard a couple of times, even with multiple anti-emetics on board. They gave me liquid and IV pain meds to try and get rid of the headache, but it finally went away on its own. I have had no pain meds since 2am on Tuesday, and was discharged later that am. I have already gone back to work. I have lost 8.6lbs from my pre-surgery am weight. I did have some swelling of my sleeve due to the heaving, which limited my Fluid intake, but that alleviated itself by Thursday. I am really ready to start this new life! My husband had this surgery Dec. 31, 2012. He had no complications and has lost 80lbs. This tells me that I really can do this, and so can you!!!
  14. I didn't get nervous until that morning. When I was in the pre-op room, the nurse came in to tell me they were taking me. As she was talking she giggled and said that the anesthesiologist (who i had already met and didn't see follow her in) just gave me a dose to put me under. Turns out he saw how nervous I was and did an awesome thing because I don't have to let my mind do the "what if" thing all the way to the OR...I don't remember leaving my sister on the room, lol! I am positive you will do amazing. Just follow the directions to the hilt...trust the Dr. and the plan!
  15. Hi! I had my surgery on 8/12 too! I've lost 8.6 lbs from my pre-surgery morning weight. I had some complications after surgery (mainly an unknown allergy to morphine that caused me to heave through 7 different anti-nausea meds). The heaving caused my sleeve to swell and be VERY angry for a couple of days. I then had limited intake because anything more than 1/4oz would hurt going in. But I'm doing MUCH better today!
  16. unfortunately for me, I am allergic to morphine...which I found out AFTER surgery this last Monday, 8/12. instant headache and heaving. Headache went away after about 12 hours, heaving (3 times total)made for a VERY angry sleeve...but after a couple of days, I have no more pain, and am 8.6 lbs down from Monday am weight before surgery. There have been a couple of moments that I have questioned what I had done, but the have been fleeting. Today was a day they warn you about, Weepy. But, after a lay down, I am much better. It is amazing what our bodies can do! "Its not bad at all and u will have a new buddy u can hold on ur hand calked the morphine button or what ever pain killer they give u trust me that will be ur new friend"
