  1. Kindle and Briangie, you're looking good girls!!! So happy for everyone
  2. Yay, Kindle!! You look great!!!
  3. Thank you and you're looking amazing girl!! I need to get more active. Thank you Sleeve Siren
  4. St. Patty's Day Challenge Goal 230lbs 2/17-238lbs 2/24-235lbs 3/3- 231lbs 3/10-231lbs
  5. Want to share an updated pic. My 5 month postop date was March 7th. I took a pic that day So happy for the progress in this amount of time. The loss is steady. It doesn't feel like it's too much in a short amount of time. It seems to be about 3ish lbs weekly with a random week here or there where I lost 5 or 6 (mainly while I had a cold for a month).
  6. Glad you made it safe Ellie! I wonder if they will move you to the Marriott later? How did the preop diet end up going for you?
  7. Thank you MWS, SuperK, Ren, and LTC7!! Our Oct people rock!! Ren, I'm so sorry you're having trouble and have to have further surgery. Make sure to keep us updated. When did the food problems start? I'm definitely going to go for my EGD my doctor recommends 6-12 months post to check everything and make sure it's ok. I would've thought the food intolerances were normal too. I'm sorry
  8. Updated 5mos post photo. Yay!!
  9. St. Patty's Day Challenge Goal 230lbs 2/17-238lbs 2/24-235lbs 3/3- 231lbs
  10. Bea, I'm good with whatever you want. Obviously some people may not be able to log in sometimes no matter what day it is because we all have different schedules. I think it's fine the way it is when we do it weekly leading up to the holiday on that date. But when were done who this challenge, however you set up the challenge, I'm in!! It's more fun though looking at the calendar leading up to the holiday. There are also other threads where people weigh in weekly on a certain day already as well.
  11. Hey, my October crew!! We are hanging in there! I'm officially down 101lbs from my high weight and 68lbs down from my surgery date. Amazing!!
  12. Covatila, ditto for me what Kindle said. This sleeve is tight! I'm still having trouble balancing eating/drinking and I'm almost 5 months out. Do the best you can and try to kill 2 birds with one stone in the beginning (protein powder in things, Greek yogurt turned into drinkable yogurt). You'll be fine. On a separate note, I'm super excited to report another milestone!! I'm officially 101lbs down from my high weight as of Friday! I'm excited, amazed, surprised, extremely thankful to have not had complications up to this point, and most of all blessed. So good! I had said that once I hit this milestone I was going to buy myself an extra special handbag that I've wanted, however the closer I got to this point, I realized that that was something I always did- buy handbags. I should be having fun!! So instead I decided on a cruise and exciting, adventurous excursions. :) :) Yay!!
  13. Covatila, I didn't have any problems sleeping but then again I've always been the girl who loves a good nap Also I saw your post about your protein intake just that one day and wanted to offer a suggestion if you don't already know about it. Unjury makes chicken broth and unflavored protein powder, so you can easily get your protein by adding the chicken flavor to your veggie broth or have it by itself and a little of the unflavored to your drinkable yogurt just to beef up protein in the beginning. Since you don't get much in every sip counts I made protein Popsicles out of the Isopure drinks from GNC too BTW- I was sticky for a few weeks before I felt comfy scrubbing that junk off I had also put steri-strips on my incisions for added security-safety (I'm a little accident prone) since I'm always bumping into things.

  15. That is so wonderful Bea!! No need to say sorry for sharing hitting such a milestone! I have my weight written down according to the BMI for all of the different obesity classes so I know when I've moved into a different class so I totally get it and I can only imagine how happy you are If anyone gets it, it's us!! CONGRATS!!
  16. AirLife AirX Incentive Spirometer, Air incentive Spirometer sold by CAREFUSION SOLUTIONS on Amazon. Under 9 bucks and free shipping. They honestly didn't ask me about the IS while at the OCC, but I had it with me.
  17. Congrats!!! You have to post pics (if you haven't already that is) Yay
  18. I'm so sorry you're having troubles with eating still, Indigo. What typically are you eating daily that your sleeve doesn't like? I hope it at least will tolerate the basic proteins. My doctor refused to give me more nausea meds saying she didn't want me taking them long term, so I had to come up with something else. After eating, I either brush my teeth and/or use those little listerine breath spray things to get the taste of food out of my mouth. It helps to keep my mind off of thinking about vomiting too. I keep one close at hand all the time. I really hope you feel better soon. I was miserable for a couple weeks then I turned the corner I'm here if you need me
  19. KJ, I'm so glad you're doing well!! Going on a plane with no extender is like the ultimate accomplishment. I am so happy for you. You are so lucky to be in Hawaii Thank you so much for being there for me while we were at the OCC. I'll tell my mom and dad you're doing well
  20. St Patty's Day Challenge Goal 230lbs 2/17-238lbs Thank you Bea!!!!
  21. No problem. Your mom is a stalker just like me! I was stalking people too! Message me anytime. My parents enjoyed themselves while we were there too and wanted to stay another day. The hotel is nice and everyone makes you feel comfortable. They loved the little sandwich shop downstairs at the OCC too. So funny.
  22. Ellie, I wouldn't worry too much about the pain meds. None of it was narcotic and all I needed postop was liquid Tylenol. I'm going to PM you my packing list. It's a bit much and I know you won't need it all
  23. I'm so glad my posts helped. I'm happy to say too I am now nearing the 100lbs lost mark from my highest weight (5lbs to go!!). I remember looking at that weight ticker wanting to cry thinking how long it would take to get to my first goal of 220lbs. Now I'm 18lbs from that goal!! It's absolutely insane! I'm sitting here with my legs crossed which I started doing a couple months ago after not doing it for years. I'm so happy Best decision I will probably ever make in my lifetime. I'll be going back to the OCC in May to get an EGD done. Hopefully Dr Ortiz will be there so I can get another photo for comparison.
