Update: I saw my cardiologist yesterday and my blood pressure was 116/70..whooo hooo. I dropped 10 pounds and he is very supportive of the surgery. All I have is the STRESS test next week,then I will receive my clearance letter. Oh, my (echo) ultrasound was superb. I am nervous but ready for change. I am calling today to put my deposit with Ready4achange.

I don t have a preop diet either. I just have to stop certain meds 10 days prior to surgery.

I just joined the other day,too. Hopefully, my surgery is Sept. 10th in Tijuana.

Great...I think it's 3 of us that will be there by ourselves that week. We will definitely have to connect.

Me,too. However, if I go I'm considering going solo. I need to pm the lady who is also going to Tijuana by herself.

Thanks so much for the response. The hospital has an attached cardiology unit. They told me to stop taking the plavix and baby aspirin for 10 days before surgery to prevent internal bleeding. I have a cardiology appt this week for my clearance letter,but he wanted me to do it on my own. I will definitely keep you posted!

Hey gamgirl...Im headed to Mexico. I hate the insurance and nutrition classes for US docs bc seriously, if it would work I wouldnt be a lifelong regain queen. I stick to doc orders very well so Im going to Tijuana.

Tijuana Sept. 9-14 and surgery is the 10th!!! Marriott Hotel and 2 day hospital stay....see y'all soon! I am only worried about my heart bc I had 1 stent placed March 2012. Im 225 now but 5 ft. Seriously....I am ready to stop carrying my granny style medicine container with all the freaking pills. Ive been wearing a girdle since 6th grade and I will have a bonfire with all undergarments/shapewear!!! Lol!

I know its hard but kids unintentionally talk a lot and trust their friends with secrets. I would be very mindful. As a former classroom teacher, kids would say all of their family business and I had to constantly tell them why they shouldnt do such a thing. Im going to say gallbladder problems or something dealing with ulcers since I've had them before. Good Luck!

Good Evening, everyone! I will try to keep.this short. I had 1 heart stent placed in March 2012 after 100% blockage from bcp(blood clot). I weigh 225 and I am 5ft in height. I take baby aspirin, blood pressure, cholesterol, and 1 plavix a day. I also started with severe acid reflux since 2011...it is draining!!!My family has a bad history of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and my mom is almost 500 pounds. I want this surgery badly bc I feel that I was given a second chance at life after my heart procedure and I want to protect my heart plus get off of all these meds. I am just 32 years of age. I am fairly active...dancing,walking, and swimming. My only concern is my heart during surgery,internal bleeding, and blood clots. Can anyone with past/current cardiovascular issues share their story? Thanks in advance.

Ok. I just spoke with Alma and she sent my paperwork. I have to get clearance from my cardiologist (heart stent) next week then put my deposit. She said that hopefully I will be in the September group for Dr. Garcia in Tijuana. I am super excited. Thanks again for the feedback.
