  1. I am 6 weeks out as of Thursday, however, Monday evening I began to feel nauseas anytime I ate or drank anything. By today I am throwing up and just feeling nasty I'm not worried about a leak. This is the first time in my whole six weeks I have thrown up and it had nothing to do with food!! Has anyone experienced their first flu since having the sleeve and what did you do to stay hydrated and get over it quickly?? Sprite is usually my go to when I have the flu but that's obviously not an option!! Any advice???

I feel the same way- then last night, as if out of nowhere my energy skyrocketed and I suddenly feel much better! Don't get me wrong, I'm still not doing much (like you, only small walks), and I still require an afternoon nap When were you sleeved???

I'm down 12 lbs since surgery but mine was the 17th. Its so exciting to get on the scale every morning and see that number going down even if it only half a pound or so. Before the sleeve I would fight that half pound to come off and now it melts off like butter!!!! I don't do much either walk around the house a couple times a day. Monday and Wednesday I did walk around campus but not an excessive amount. One thing I am having a hard time with is not being able to eat. Not even because I'm hungry but because I have literally ZERO energy. Like Walking around campus Wednesday, by time I got home I was absolutely DRAINED and even throughout the day I could NOT WAIT to sit down!!! I feel like my body is using every once of energy in my body right now. I had a two week pre op liquid diet and I'm looking at another 4 weeks before any for of real food(puréed diet) I know I can make it and I KNOW in the long run this will be the best decision I have ever made! But it's tough right now!! Any one else having trouble with energy??
  5. They gave me some medicine to relax which actually made me very sleepy I remember moving from the gernie to the table and them telling me to push down on the feet pads like pedals at least I think I remember that it may have been a dream lol....the next think I remember is waking up in the recovering room with a lot of pressure in my chest and wanting to run my eyes and them telling me not to...the. I was out for awhile I don't remember being moved to my room or anything my boyfriend came in about an hour later and that's my first solid memory of anything....it literally feels like your asleep for like 2 mins then your out and done i was shocked how quick it was....good luck you'll do great!!!!!

    Anyone From Nc?

Not my particular policy. I have it through my dads employer and it is PPO. Their general policy states they no longer require a supervised diet, just a psych eval and nutrition consult. As a matter of fact I was told by the insurance provider from my drs office I needed a five year weight history and 12 months office notes and I wasn't sure for what but I just gave her all my medical records for the past three years as that was all I had and a letter of medical necessity which miraculously my Dr. wrote for me and vwalla not one issue. Approved in less than 48 business hrs. However, reading over these forums APPARENTLY some policies with BCBSIL are still slipping in the 6 month diet. So I guess it depends on your policy.

    BCBS of IL

My paperwork was submitted yesterday afternoon. I called this morning and they said it was still under review! I will call Monday and hopefully have some answers she told me it could take up to 30 days but I think they have to say that if you ask. I have heard the BCBSIL is the best and quickest on approvals!!! Fingers crossed!!

Waiting is really getting to me

Paperwork submitted yesterday the surgeons office was obviously not concerned about the missing two years hmm o well fingers crossed for a quick approval!!!! Good luck to you lady's on your journey I hope it all goes well!!!
  18. Hello fellow sleevers. I have turned to the boards for words of encouragement and advice. When I started this journey the 20th of August I was certain I would be getting sleeved by September 26th which would be tomorrow but I am still playing the waiting game with my surgeons office and everyday that goes by I get more and more discouraged!! After my first appointment with the doctor I was so certain I would be approved no problem and began planning my new life and constantly talking about it with my BMI of 40 and my insurance BCBSIL i was certain approval would be easy and I was ecstatic when they verified I didn't need the 6 month diet. I also recently got a letter of medical necessity from my PCP but the wait is killing me i am now looking at a october 17th surgery at the earliest! I know it sounds selfish because some are not even able to get the surgery but I'm so ready to start my new life. One question though my insurance coordinator put on the paper I need a five year weight history and 12 months office notes?? I only have three years as I have only been with this doctor for three years and my doc in ohio states they do not have any records of mine on file and I don't need a supervised diet so what is the 12 month charts notes for?? Any words of advice or encouragement would be so helpful as I am beginning to feel discouraged with the waiting!
  19. Having my first appointment this Tuesday...BMI of 40 with sleep apnea...I have BCBS of IL through my dads work which i believe is PPO.... I am really concerned about approval...I have read several threads and nothing is consistent....surgeons office said they no longer require six month supervised diet which i am postivs of but do they require a letter of medical necessity and weight history!? I have three years weight history about 35 but I moved to North Carolina And I cannot manage to get a hold of my medical records from my previous doctor. Any advice???

BCBS of IL....Any advice appeiciated :-)

I have another question for anyone who can help. I noticed on the note faxed to my PCP something about 12 month office notes. I'm not sure what this would be for. I have BCBSIL PPO and I DO NOT have any required diet documentation that needs to be sent in. Did anyone else encounter this?? I have all my lab results and my letter of medical necessity from my PCP and a three year weight history. It said something about five years on the sheet but I have only been at that doctor for three years and cannot get a dhold of my doctor in Ohio for any additional documentation. When I talked to the operator about my policy she said nothing about weight history. Anyone have any problems or encounter any of this going through their process?!?!

Wow congrats to you!! Yeah I had my appointment on August 20 and on September 4 the I fulfilled all the office requirements...I am STILL waiting on submission by my office and they told me it was because the psych eval could take up to three weeks to get it back I was shocked!! I was shooting for an Oct 3rd date but the are now booked up for the endoscopy and final surgeon consult until mid oct I'm a little agitated but I keep reminding myself that it's all worth it!!! Good luck on your surgery and best of luck with your new happy life!!!
