Protein shakes vs protein powder
I've just started my journey and as I have been reading your post I read a lot about protein shakes. Me being the OCD researcher that I am I'm curious to know if you guys are buying pre made shakes, or if your buying the powder and making your own shakes. In your opinion which is better? Also how to the pre made shakes compare in price to the others? Thanks for your input in advance!

Thanks everyone. I've only been to meeting with the bariatric counselor and meet with the surgeon for the first time later in the month. When I go for this visit I will have the Helicobacter Pylori Breath Test. I thought this to be a bit strange bc it seems that this is something that should be done closer to surgery rather than first visit.- Insurance Requirments

I have been reading a lot of your post and it seems that most usually have 8 to 9 month process leading up to surgery. I know some of this is because pre op testing, but I was wondering if this is also because the insurance required a 6 month diet program? I know a lot of them do so I was wondering if the 8 or 9 month process included this for most of you. My insurance doesn't require this so I'm just trying to get an idea.- Does anyone have dreams they wanted to accomplish after weight loss?

Seeing all these things have made me realize just how big my list really is. I want to be able to go shopping with my best friend w/o getting tired. I want to be able to go places with my husband without having to worry about wether the seating will accommodate me. I want to be able to go the my God sons ball games without having to worry about wether ill be able to make the walk to stands. I want to shop in an actual store and not online bc I'm too self conscious for a store. I want to be able to walk my dog. I want to cross my legs while sitting in a chair with arms that i usually wouldn't even fit in. I want to go to the beach and be able to make it to the water w/o a struggle. I want to wear shorts in public for the first time in years. I want to put on my first pair of hight heels and strut my stuff. This is just the tip of the ice burg and I've always been to embarrassed to say these things. Thanks for giving me a safe place to talk about it.- Does anyone have dreams they wanted to accomplish after weight loss?

I have so many things! When I think about all the possibilities that this procedure can open up for me I can't stop smiling! The biggest one though is to be able to conceive a child. My husband and I have tried for so long and my doctors seem to think that my weight contributes to the problem conceiving. I can start trying to conceive 2 years post op and the thought that our dreams might finally come true is amazing! I've just started on my journey so it will be a while before this happens, but the possibilities are endless!- Hair Loss
Thanks everyone. I just want to know what to expect. I will deal with any obstacle I face on this journey. I'm going to do everything in my power to follow the doctors guidelines. If I do this obstacles should be few.- Pre OP testing
That is very true! These are small things compared to how this procedure will change our lives! I would like a report though if you don't mind!- Hair Loss
Thanks for the tip! I'm new to the forum and wasn't sure exactly where to post this question.- Just 60%? Really?
Oh wow! That would be really discouraging. I'm glad that most people on here seem to disagree with that statement. I am fat and happy, but I really want to be healthy and live a long life.- Hair Loss
I've known a couple people who had gastric bypass and had a lot of hair loss post op. I'm really hoping that this is just because they were being non compliment or something. Has anyone else known this to happen and does it happen to everyone?- Pre OP testing
I'm getting ready for a long ride! Lol Manometry sounds painful. I can't stand stuff up my nose. A flu swab test is the worst! Lol- Just got the call the approval is in
Good Luck! I just started on my journey August 2nd. I meet with the surgeon the first time on August 22nd. I can't wait!!!- Pre OP testing
