  4. Thanks good to know! I have pb2 and love it with chocolate protein powder. .tastes like a Reeses cup! I haven't used the pb2 since surgery on 11/19 but I think I will use some tomorrow!
  5. Does anyone know when we are allowed to have a little peanut butter? I think a tablespoon would taste great and give me some protein and fat that my body is craving! I will have to remember to ask my surgeon about that on Monday:)
  6. I'm almost 2 wks post op and feeling so much better! I'm hoping my follow up appt on Monday my surgeon gives the ok for pureed foods! The protein shakes are hard to stomach at this point but I just bought a book called "the bariatric foodie guide to perfect protein shakes" by nikki massie! It's a great recipe book that everyone should get!!! I got it on Amazon and can't wait to try out some recipes once I can add fruit to my shakes:)

  10. That's funny calicakes I pooped today for the first time too!!!! Yay for poop!!!
  11. I've been doing gatorade and water mixed to stay hydrated! I break up my meals into 3 hour intervals so I'm not grazing all day! I have been drinking premiere protein shakes (30g protein)from Costco one ounce every 10 minutes! Going down ok..today I had a little bit of sugar free pudding and it went down fine..gas pains still bad and I'm 5 days post op!
  12. Each day feeling a little stronger! Gas pains have been difficult for me as well! I'm down 20 lbs since pre op diet so that is very positive! This recovery is a slow process and we need to be patient:)
  13. Yes I've tried the protein hot chocolate from bariatric pantry.com! It is really good! I think it has like 15g of protein!
  14. It would definitely be considered full liquid! Hot chocolate sounds good!
  15. I don't think it's a problem unless there is redness and or swelling in the area! When is your follow up doctor appt? You should have your surgeon take a look at it!
  16. Gelica, your incision actually looks ok..i don't see any redness or swelling around the incision! Does it hurt at all? This liquid diet is sooooo hard..i actually feel hungry:( I know it will get better each day! This is most definitely a process that takes time!!! Still have lots of gas too which is very painful at times:(
  17. Wow edpsych78! That's a lot of liquids and protein! I'm on the same meds as you..protonix, levsin, and zofran! I still can't get in that much! I also get lots of gas when I drink anything! Each day will get better though! I feel really hungry and that's pretty hard to deal with:(
  18. I imagine that each day I will be able to take in more fluids. .i still feel hungry:( hopefully next week at my surgeon appt he will give me the ok for yogurt or cottage cheese!!!
  19. I have been walking everyday but it takes a lot out of me because of so little nutrition! I'm trying to increase my fluids and tonight I tried liquid vitamins and calcium for the first time and I actually got down 1tsp of each with no problems. .i actually feel less weak after the vitamins! I have to gradually increase vitamins to 2 tbsp daily but baby steps!I think it's hard to get in all the fluids because of my fear of being nauseous! !!
  20. Hi calicakes..i had surgery same day as you! I haven't been able to get in as much fluids as you! I have to try though because I'm so scared of dehydration:( are u feeling weak?? I'm feeling so weak and tired..i want to start liquid vitamins but I'm afraid of nausea:( have u started vitamins yet??
  21. I am 4 days post op today and feeling pretty weak and hungry:( I can't take in very much so I've been doing 1 oz of fluids every 15 minutes. .mentally it's hard because I feel like I'm starving myself:( I know it will get better but this has been a really hard week!!! I'm on full liquids for 4 wks:(
  22. I had surgery 11/19 and I suffered with horrible gas pains..i needed narcotics the first day for the pain:( the pain meds me nauseous and it was pretty rough..I'm at home now and drinking 1 oz every 15 minutes! I still have gas but it's not too bad! I've been feeling deprived and my body feels hungry but I can't eat..not easy at all but I know it will get better!
  23. Lol, I know! I was just researching it and had to comment:)
  24. Hi all..wow there are a lot of strong opinions about mj! I am a nurse and I smoke mj in moderation to reduce anxiety and stress, its helped me more than any pill can..mj has actually been used for thousands of years for its medicinal healing properities! It is not at all like smoking tobacco not even close! I am quitting now because I'm having surgery in 2 wks and want my outcomes to be the best they can possibly be! I don't plan on smoking after surgery for at least 3 months..I just think people should really do their research about mj before commenting and or passing judgment on someone else!
