  3. Hi all..I had my surgery on 11-19-13 and I'm down 80 lbs! I want to lose another 85 but it's going slowly lately:( I walk over a mile about 4 days a week and I do a little bit of the elliptical but it's really hard for me to do the elliptical! I'm right around 1000 calories a day..I see a nutritionist monthly to keep me on track as well..hopefully the scale starts moving again!
  4. Hi all..my surgery was Nov 19th and I'm down 70 lbs...like to lose another 100! I joined the gym and go 3 to 4 times a week! I Do treadmill and elliptical and without working out i definitely wouldn't be losing weight! I feel the best I've felt in a long time!
  5. Hi im jenny..surgery was Nov 19th 2013 and I'm down 70 lbs! My best moment was zipping up a pair of size 16 pants!!!! Nothing tastes as good as I feel these days!!!! That is what keeps me motivated to stick with eating healthy and exercising!))
  6. Hi all:) I had my surgery on Nov 19th 2013 and I've lost 60 lbs so far! Feeling great and have been able to tolerate all foods with no vomiting at all..I feel lucky to be doing so well:) I do struggle with getting in enough fluids on some days though. .have to remember to sip all day and it's hard when your busy:(
  7. Omg I can't wait to try a meatball! !! Yes I get head hunger too:( I'm super strict though because I'm afraid of getting nauseous or throwing up! This surgery made me a rule follower. .lol!
  8. Congrats on the weight loss! !! The birds eye cauliflower in cheese sauce is 50 calories and 2.5grams of fat for half a cup!
  9. My surgeon and nutritionist are pretty strict..Each phase is 4 wks so I'm doing eggs, cheeses, greek yogurt, protein frozen fruit smoothies, deli ham or turkey shaved, and I will be adding in hot bran cereals and sweet potatoes..it gets boring but soon i will be doing salmon and other seafood. .i just bought birds eye cauliflower in cheese sauce because it's soft and I need my veggies. .lol..i try to get 800 calories a day and 60 grams of protein. .what are u eating??
  10. Hi I had my surgery on 11/19 also! Doing great:)
  11. Hi scarlet333, I had a great experience with gadaleta and my surgery went great! I know what u mean about bedside manner but honestly most great surgeons do not have the bedside manner to match! That has been my experience as an Rn. ..He definitely does not sugar coat anything with me and is very honest so I like that..He wants you to lose the most possible weight in the first year because after that your sleeve begins to stretch naturally and your weight loss will slow down significantly so I think that is why he is so brutally honest about his expectations for your weight loss! I'm down about 32 lbs in 5 wks and my surgery was 11/19/13!
  12. I think it's just really hard in the beginning to get in requirements for protein and fluids..I'm 3 wks out and it's just starting to get easier now..i literally bring a drink and snack wherever I go..I've been doing the drinkable yogurt because it goes down easy has protein and travels pretty well! I feel like I've brought home a newborn baby and I have to take care of it 24/7! Takes time to get used to this new lifestyle! !!
  13. Ok thanks. .I'm gonna try the unflavored protein in my vitamin water!
  14. Ok thanks. .I'm gonna try the unflavored protein in my vitamin water!
  15. Hi..i was taking opurity bariatric vitamins but they made me so nauseous so I just switched to flinstones complete with iron and they are going down fine no nausea! I also do vitafusion calcium gummies and there very good I just chew them very well..I'm having poop problems right now..I'm 2 wks out and I've only gone once since I've been home:( calcium and iron are also very constipating! I'm doing prune juice now and hoping for a miracle. .lol:)
  16. I have tried syntrax unflavored protein powder but it made everything so thick! It kind of turned me off..maybe unjury is better? I haven't tried it in vitamin water or crystal light so maybe I will give that the old college try!
  17. I used to really enjoy chocolate premiere shakes but now that I've been drinking them constantly for 2 wks they taste like mud! maybe I will try putting them in the freezer for 30 minutes before drinking! I think the powder protein shakes will be more palatable once I can add frozen fruit like banana!
  18. Hi dyan:) yes I'm eating laughing cow wedges as well! Not ready for cottage cheese or eggs just yet. ..This may be TMI but I haven't pooped in 10 days:( I did a bowel prep with miralax before surgery and I've only been on full liquids so my surgeon wasn't too concerned but he said I could try miralax one dose if things get critical. .lol..have u been going through this? ? I've been sipping on prune juice all day and so far nothing!
  19. Yeah I'm trying to sip sip sip all day! I still don't feel like it's ever enough fluids..i know it will get easier like u said but for now it frustrating! Just got to hang in there:)
  20. Hi..I'm 2 wks out and also having trouble with fluids and protein! I've been doing drinkable yogurt and That goes down very well! Greek yogurt..premiere protein shakes from Costco and ricotta cheese! I'm still only getting about 200 to 300 calories a day and my surgeon wants 600 calories a day! Ugh this is really tough:(
  21. I'm two weeks out and I'm getting in about 300 calories a day..my surgeon wants 600 calories a day and 60g of protein. .which is nearly impossible:( I hope this gets easier! It's really hard mentally when u feel like ur starving yourself! !!!
  22. Hi all..sorry this is TMI but I'm still on full liquid diet and I'm 2 wks post op..i haven't pooped in 9 days:( is this normal on full liquids? My doctor told me to take miralax and I'm thinking I might try it today! Starting to worry now that I should be going to the bathroom by now! Anyone have any advice?
  23. I've been eating chobani blended fruit yogurt! I have trouble with artificial sweetner and I hate the taste of it so I've been doing regular juices watered down and pretty much not paying attention to fat content either..I'm taking in maybe 300 to 400 calories a day so I'm not to concerned right now with fat free sugar free..i just eat and drink what I can I tolerate:)
  24. Oh ok I didn't realize u had some complications! That's entirely different! Yes u should follow your surgeons advice and discharge instructions. .i just know for myself I was soooooo weak on just clears and shakes:( I'm feeling like a new person now that I've added ricotta cheese and yogurt!
