Blood clots
Iit was thought that for most patients, the heightened risk lasted only a few days - and reduced when they were up and moving around normally. But now research has shown that surgery patients are still at a higher risk of a clot for seven to 12 weeks after surgery. Keep walking.

Ive also asked for an estimate but haven't been able to get one. Did they provide you with one? My insurance will cover 85%. I'm just trying to figure out what I will be responsible for.

Low(ISH) BMI-ERS- what made you decide to do this?
So, I have a BMI of 40. I, like others have been heavy all my life. Even at my fittest, playing soccer in college, I was still considered overweight. I am a thin person trapped in a fat body. I know that I am destined for greater things and this surgery is the tool that will help me achieve them. I have people tell me everyday that I'm not big enough to warrant the surgery. You and only you can make this decision. Good luck.

Did I just cry at work?
Do you work in my office, because it sounds like you do? I also feel your pain. Just throw several kids in the picture, my third speed camera ticket in the mail today and a death in the family and it might be my blog. You know what put things in perspective for me today in cube land? My neighbor several cubes down that I hadn't seem around the office in awhile. She stopped by. She had no hair, no breasts, and looked like hell. She has been through treatment for breast cancer this last year. In the end it made all my things a little more trivial.

This is what you can expect: Lab Work EKG Chest XRay Psych Eval Upper GI Ultrasound sleep Study Anestesia Testing Monthly Nut meetings (NLT 3) I have insurance and its costing me an arm and a leg. I couldn't imagine without insurance. The labs alone were $1,800 w/out insurance and I went through LabCorp.

Any October sleevers?
Ejs sorry for the delay. I received my date prior to insurance approval. I should have all my requirements met by 1 Sept. I have Blue Cross Blue Sheld Federal and the Dr has dealt with them often so they are used to working through the process and obtaining it rather quickly.

Feedback anyone sleeved on Coumadin/Warfarin
I have been on Coumadin for over 10 years for a blood disorder. I have surgery scheduled for Oct 4. She will need to meet with her hematologist to obtain clearance. They will take her off of her Coumadin approx 2-3 weeks before surgery and will have to take lovinox injections. She may have a longer hospital stay. Hope this helps.

Blood clots
Good luck

Blood clots
Yes; however, a hematologist clearance is required with a potential for longer hospital stay.

Blood clots
I have Factor V Deficiency. I'm sorry, I don't know anything about your disorder. My blood lacks a thinning agent and stays thicker then most people's.
-
Blood clots
I have a blood clotting disorder and have a history of blood clots which is now managed by Coumadin. What I've learned is to just have it checked out. They will do an ultrasound. One thing to think about, vitamin dificiancies will also give you leg pain. Check your potassium levels.
