Thank you for that bit of advice to call the insurance company...I had thought of doing that and then thought again and had decided to wait. But, sometimes paperwork gets piled on a desk and neglected and I would not like to know it was what I am waiting for....This site is great for getting experienced advice!:nervous

I also am waiting to hear if my insurance is going to accept this procedure and I am getting inpatient. Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks that my surgeon said they would go ahead and submit my case to the insurance. I am finding myself eating more than ever and am frustrated. How long have you been waiting?

I am just going through the preliminaries and have yet to see the surgeon who would do the LB procedure. I have tried to contact a few women who have had this done, but have not had the chance to actually ask them if they are glad they did it. Tell me how you managed with the slow weight loss in the beginning and who you felt after surgery and anything else about this journey. My questions are mainly about how people do the first few months after, physically and mentally....

I am new to this forum, have not been "banded" and am going to an informational meeting regarding the lap band Tues. June 26. I am nervous, but know I need some help with controlling my eating so I can live a longer, healthier life. Would someone be kind enough to tell me what the journey is like to begin with. What is the 2 week diet before the surgery? how long does a person have to wait to have the surgery? Are there some periods of vomitting or diarrhea like the bypass surgeries? How long are you off of work? I am in Minnesota. Would love to hear from someone!
